A. Andrew Gonzalez
Description: I was born October 13th 1963 at Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, and spent most my youth between San Antonio and northern California. I currently reside in San Antonio. My art education is self-taught and even though my father, Anthony A. Gonzalez, is an accomplished professional artist , he gave me encouragement but no formal training. My childhood drawings where mostly of surreal creatures and otherworldly space travels and as a teenager I began to explore a bit of wildlife drawing. At 13 years of age, I discovered the masters of the surreal, fantastic and visionary art through a gift subscription of OMNI magazine. This was precisely the stimulation my imagination craved. I was profoundly fascinated by articles that explored the frontiers of consciousness research, spirituality, science, psychology, physics and fiction and was completely enchanted by the art!, seeing for the first time the visions of Ernst Fuchs, H.R.Giger, Dali, Robert Venosa, De Es, and many others.

Amy Brown
Description: Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, she was born in Bellingham, Washington in 1972. Like most talented artists, she began drawing at a young age. "I was never one of those children who daydreamed of growing up to become an artist. I just ASSUMED that was what I would be. It was never a question of 'do I want to be an artist?'. Often there are days when I really don't want to paint, I HAVE to paint. The urge to create is almost a wild, living entity trapped inside me, clawing to escape. My greatest influences have been Brian Froud and Michael Parkes, which is evident in my paintings. I have also been greatly inspired by the urban fantasy stories of Charles deLint and the lovely, haunting music of Loreena McKennitt.

Andrew Annenberg
Description: Andrew lives on Maui where his zest for life and his love of the tropics imbues his images with an uncanny vibrancy. His art work has tremendous photo-realism with detail to the point of being almost microscopic! Perhaps this is why Andrew's work has been referred to as "visionary realism". In fact, the realism in his underwater imagery stems partially from the fact that Andrew loves to actually go skin-diving on Maui. Much of his artistic inspiration comes from the Lemurian feeling of the Hawaiian islands, his enchantment with the tropical version of paradise, as well as his fascination with the primal, the archetypal, the mythological, and the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, and Atlantis.

Boris Vallejo
Description: Born in Lima, Peru, Boris attended the National School of Fine Arts in his native country before immigrating to the United States in 1964. He has since done a great volume of work for the Fantasy field, having worked for virtually every major publishing house with a science fiction/fantasy line. Boris has also illustrated for album covers, video box art and motion picture advertising. His mastery of oil painting is immediately and abundantly clear to anyone who looks at his work, and his classic sense is as much an homage to the old masters as it is to anyone contemporaneously working in the Fantasy genre. For sheer dauntless bravura, few have ever pushed the limits as does Boris with his beautiful maidens and fearsome monsters.
