I'm in the western part of South Carolina - near Aiken. I was born and raised in Boston, where the craft is open and accepted. Then I lived for 30 years in Florida, where the craft is open and tolerated. Now I'm in the heart of the bible belt, where I'm learning how to hide. I'm fortunate that one of my children worships with me, but I'm most proud that each of my 6 children was able to find their own path, because I refused to insist upon any particular course of choice for them.
I've been practicing the craft myself for over 45 years now, mostly based upon what I witnessed my Italian grandmother do in the privacy of her bedroom, where she tried to make it all look so catholic. I'm a crone, 68 years old, and consider myself strega, but not the Aradian kind.
Thanks for inviting me to this lovely cauldron of like minds.

My grandmother came from the mountains of the Philippines, so we were raised with both Catholicism (the main religion in the Philippines) and the old ways of our ancestors. Sounds kind of ironic I guess, but in our family neither one ever got in the way of the other. I guess I'm lucky to have that foundation.
