Hi,
I assume this is the essential oil section? Forgive me if its not I didn't have a really good look.

I am halfway through making an oil blend (An oil to aid visualisation) and I've run out of grapefruit (I didn't bother to check the levels before I started blending!!)

Can anyone recommend a grapefruit substitute?

Thanks!

Hi Mel,

Have you looked in our BOS at the essential oils and Aromatherapy sections??? There are some wonderful recipes and ideas there to assisy you as well.

It depends in what capacity you are using the grapefruit oil. What are using it for, and what oils are you belnding it with? What type of carrier oil are you using?

I need a little more info before I offer a suggestion.

Hi,
I'm blending it with Clary Sage, Lemongrass and Patchouli. I didn't create the blend and there was no explanation for the individual oils.

I didn't give the carrier oil ANY thought I just grabbed the first one which was Apricot oil.

I was thinking Lime for spiritual awareness and because the scent is sort of similar.

What do you think? The only magical references I have are Scott Cunningham books and he doesn't mention grapefruit in "oils and brews". Not sure about "magical aromatherapy" cos its out in the car and I aint going out there Very Happy

Personally, I would leave the grapefruit element alone, and stick to the scents you have used.

Sometimes there is no reason to substitute. Also remember that the oils you have used blended with the apricot will make your skin very susceptible to burns from the sun. Also, if you are pregnant or are using it around someone pregnat the clary sage can be dangerous. Always be careful when blending essential oils and read up on the elements of each one.

Hope that helps, and have fun!
