Something to think about . . . discuss . . . older women, younger men

Last friday I cast a spell with herbs. Asking that the godess and the elements hear my request, burned some herbs by the window (really stunk) that before the next full moon, let the next lover in my life contact me. 2 hours after the last herbs were burnt and the last round of rhyme, I got contacted by someone here in town on myspace. We've been talking all week and are having coffee tonite.

Here's something for discussion . . . what are the general feelings about an older woman going out with someone 16 years their junior? I'm nervous . . . and know the male of the species has been doing this for centuries . . .

Any of you been there, done that, have any reflections on the situation . . .

Be careful bigolalaskan,

Even tho you are desiring a relationship, a spell is truly not going to answer all your prayers. Be true to yourself...love yourself FIRST. When you are completely comfortable with you, what and how you are; love will come. As for someone that much younger....do you really desire to raise a man?

MySpace is extremely dangerous....PLEASE be careful.

This guy may just want to "test the waters" with someone older...and then you will be left behind....

Look within, try to find out why you desire a companion with this much age difference. You will have little in common over the long run, having grown up and lived in different generations....it is cause for concern....take care of yourself, and do NOY let your heart rule your head....people like this could ruin your life.

I had a friend you found someone younger (15 years) they got together, moved in with one another, and she came home from work one day to find everything she owned...gone. Even down to the silverware. She never found the man, and it has been 3 years. It seems he found older women to date, and steal from, then moved to a different town and did the same thing....there are many predators out there.....

Alaskan,
Perhaps I can add a different perspective. From my late teens up through my mid thirties, I dated several older women. I was known as the Fossil Hunter to friends. I must say I had a mighty fine time on my paleological excursions, and I am friends with most of these wonderful ladies to this day. However, as I grew older myself, I began to notice a pattern. None of these relationships could ever be permanent. One after the other, the relationship would dissolve because the other party and I would simply grow in different directions. As I matured, I began to give a lot of thought to why I needed a relationship to begin with. Seeking a relationship as a shortcut to happiness is the wrong reason, I realized. It's dishonest and it's not fair to either party. Only someone who can be happy unto himself or herself can hope to have a successful relationship.

Hope this helps.
