MM Everyone,
I know I'm very new to both the Wiccan path and to this blog but I've found a lot of good information here and this is like my second home when my wife is at work or I'm up at night sick. So, I wanted everyone to know that I appreciate everyone one this site. You've given me, whether you know it or not, the courage to stand up for myself in my work space as well as in other matters. One of these areas was finally going to the doctor for a few digestive problems I've been having that have been keeping me up at night lately due to the severe pain it causes.
My diagnosis is what my announcement is about. I found out that I have a long term disease that causes degeneration of my digestive tract and organs and all that. They found it early enough that I may not die from it but I guess they equate the pain to it like having kidney stone pain in your abdomen almost every day. Because of me being in the military I may have to go up for a Medical Board and might even get an honoarble medical discharge from the service. Its strange where you turn to when both your own mortality and your means of earning a living come into question. I turned here and bought a few books and just did some real soul searching.
I went and sat by the ocean a few miles away from where I live at here in Florida and just really pondered everything. The pain in my abdomen just really started getting to me and then I stopped and turned for a reason that I don't quite understand and I sat back down. I closed my eyes and for the first time I just felt this intense heat and almost like the feeling you have when you are with your favorite person, blanket, or even a nice cat nap or something. I just felt all this pressure just lift from my abdomen and I just felt like intense. I opened my eyes and looked down to make sure a shark hadn't cut me in half or something and was glad that I was still alive. Everything seemed more vibrant and intense. The waves, the birds, the grass moving, even the sand. I'm not sure about many things anymore but there is one thing I'm certain of and thats a distinct connection with divinity and the Earth. I can't thank you guys enough for what you've done for me, and it just swells my chest and puts a tear in my eye (okay, maybe a few) to think about the gift you have lead me to. I can't help thinking that if this site wasn't out here that I'd be wandering around lost right now. Thanks for being there.
