Hello All

I have a question about my sage plant. It is flowering and I am wondering if there are any specific uses for the flowers?

I have also been blessed with my lemon balm not only spreading this year, but sending a new shoot far away from the mother plant and now I have a whole new plant that I can transplant to another part of the garden and start a new patch!

Also, my friend's daughter (16) gets kidney stones that are really painful and this occurs about five times a year. Is there an herbal tea that would be beneficial to her? I've been looking but cannot find anything specific. Any help would be appreciated. That poor girl really suffers with this and medical science has not been able to prevent them.

Blessings,

Hi SisterWolf,

What type of sage is it? I would let the flowers go to seed, collect them and plant a page somewhere else. I am glad they are prolific for you! I have garden sage and clary sage growing here, and when I dry the flower heads, I always hang the plant upside down, in a dry, ventilated and dark area...away from sunlight. Then, after they are dry, I use them in potpourri or in bath teas.

Place the word "sage" in our search engine att he top of the home page and see what comes up. We have numerous recipes, crafts, potions and portents about sage here in the community.

Enjoy your gifts from your garden!

Thank you Lady Elaine!
It is regular garden sage. I usually dry the leaves but wasn't sure about the uses for the flowers. My sister just gave me a pineapple sage plant. I have lemon balm, lavender, sage, English thyme, all about 5-6 years old. My rosemary is about 2 years old. They have taken over the space I had for them so now I am constructing a very large raised herb bed (had to move the fence back) for my new additions- pineapple sage, lemon thyme, more lavender, more lemon balm, spearmint, peppermint, rue, pennyroyal, marjoram, and dead nettle.

I have already harvested three bunches of lemon balm and the first harvest of lavender is about ready. I expect three more harvests before the end of the season. I also hang them upside down to dry them and then store them.

I will use the search engine! Thanks for the info!

Brightest Blessings!
