Greetings to everyone! May you all enjoy this Samhain Day!!! I am very new to the Pagan lifestyle, however, I believe that I was introduced to nature's way a very long time ago. It has taken me many years to finally shed my superficial main stream religious skin and stand (well sit) here and type to you all.
How to introduce myself? I am a single mother, of three beautiful boys. I am 40 years old, born on May 1st, to an Italian father and Hungarian mother. I live in North Eastern Pennsylvania, United States.
My father was born in Sicily and for some time I lived there with my family.
Growing up in another country, steeped in many traditions exposed me to many different beliefs. For that I have been grateful and proud to say I have always been curious. I was never satisfied with the answers of the Roman Catholic Church. I was always trying to find a concrete answer, something...anything that made sense to me.
As time went on, my family moved back to America and it is here I began my journey. I was 9 years old. My Grandfather, he set me initially on my path. I remember him taking me by the hand and saying, "Mela, you don't need to go to church across the street, when God's bounty, beauty and lessons are right here at your feet. They will hear you when you talk. They listen and give you advice." Being young, I wanted to know who "they" were, but he never elaborated, so I hung around more and more, tending to his garden, watching him, talking to the plants, the earth, the trees, the air.
Soon, I realized that I was blessed with a gift as my Grandfather was before me. I am an natural gardener. Tending crops, growing fruits from seed as well as vegetables was as easy as breathing. Nothing pleases me more than to work outside, the warm soil in my hands, talking to the earth mother, listening in respect. I have been blessed on many levels, but it is much to long to include here and I fear that I have rambled on...forgive me! I am very excited as you can tell!
Now here I am, posting on a message board, telling you all a bit about my life. I have led a very long journey, (it seems to me anyhow) to get here, but if you want to know more about me, please contact me. I love to meet new people and share thoughts, ideas, whatever pleases you at the moment.
