I was so disapointed when I moved and didn't have the vareity of birds, lizards, and amphibians I use to.  That chameleon is huge compared to what I use to have.

I can agree with the mutual loathing of water bugs and flying roaches.  When I lived an hour from the beach, I use to get these prehistoric monstrosities of bugs that terrified me.  One night, I was in a deep sleep and one of these bugs crawled down my tank top. Mad  Since then, I have vowed never to live nearer to the coast or farther to the south than I am currently at.

Before my wanderings, I grew up in missouri along the missippi.  on more then one occation while camping I have run across blackwidows.  And I can say I have played with a baby dimond back rattler for several hours and did not get bitten.  just wish I knew what it was at the time Wink.  Now I don't have many of the pretty nastys.  I live on the ocean.

Stacey if you don't like roaches, than you wouldn't like the ones we get.  Although I have never seen the ones over your way, but ours my god I'm sure you could saddle them.  My two girls are terrified of them and you always know when one is in the house, for the screams.

The xmas bettles I can't stand.  Many years ago one flew into my hair and I lost the plot big time as they have claws on their feet that latch on.  They also make this great hissing noise.  I will run a mile if one comes near me.  With big girls nikas on screaming all the way.

TOADS!!! I LOVE TOADS!! (Up)

One of the most memorable times in my childhood was when we lived in Dallas. I was but a wee-one, and my Dad would take me hunting for toads and tadpoles....I have had a love for toads and frogs ever since. What a wonderful visitor!!

Down here we have about 4 species of toad..one thing I have not seen here, but would love to, is a Horny Toad. We had them in Dallas when I was young, and when I was there in August I saw one. Very kewl creatures....

Thank you Sundown, as usually you have brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart.....it is so wonderful to have you sharing your world with us....

I must say your toads are much nicer looking than our cane toads.  Horrible lookin things and a huge pest.  They are not too kind on the other animls around the place.

At the moment we have a huge amount of flying foxes getting around for all of the mangos that are coming into season.  Screaming, peeing things.  They are in their hundreds and can strip your tree in a night.  So have been keeping a close eye on ours so I can pick them soon, wrap them and let them ripen inside.

This one is some type of tree frog, I don't remember ever seeing to many like these. You can see the suction cup toes on it's front feet. Mostly we have the green tree frogs. Till I went and looked I didn't know it could be that difficult to tell the difference between frogs ! LOL

Hi Sundown,
I had no idea it was a tree frog until you pointed out its "suction feet" to me! Wow....all sorts of kewl critters! I don't beleive I have ever seen a tree frog of that sort. You are a plethera of information! I will take a walk and look for some of these...when you saw them before where were they? High or low on the trees?

With the rain today, I am thinking we will have more critters wandering around ove the next couple of days...

This tree frog was at the base of the tree, but I don't think that was it's normal place. The green tree frogs will be anywhere, I am thinking this one may stay a bit higher up but I am not real sure.

The green guys are easy to spot....the other one tho...he will be a tough one to see up in the trees!! I will keep a look out tho....and let ya know if I spot one and where...I did tun across a slug last evening that was about 8 inches long...never seen such a thing....I had to pick it up and bring it inside to watch it....and I about never got the slime off of my fingers.....LOL

He was really slow to unwind back out...abd after awhile I put him back out by the pond. Very kewl critters indeed!

Some visitors just leave a reminder that they were here

And some are here all the time, this one was camera shy and wouldn't stop moving, LOL.

And no, I have no idea what kind of spider this is!

AAAAHHHHH so cute.  I love baby animals.

We have had a lot of visitors of the red back spider variety over the last few days.  It is breeding season for them and we have some very large females moving around.  Have to be aware of these ones, have been bitten in the past and not a nice experience.

Also had a lot of King parrots, they are beautiful.  And two stray cats that the old neighbour left behind when she moved out ( some people should not have animals), the little female looks to be going to be a mum soon as well.  The new neighbour wont do anything with them as she hates cats ( good indication to a person if they are kind to animals or not) so I have been doing that until I can find them some new homes.

Sorry to ramble in your space Sundown.  I do love the calf though.  Is it a pet or ?

Ramble away anytime!
No not a pet, they belong to the gentleman that leases my pasture. Should be several more soon.
