I don't know if I'm just being too sensitive about this.  One of my co-irkers (I'm work-study) said that one of the little boys down the street gave her daughter a glass rose and a pentagram.  She made her daughter give them back because "pentagrams" are "evil".  What got to me is that not only am I wearing one right now, but this person knows that I'm Pagan.  It just feels like she's effectively calling me an evil person.  Or am I just being over-sensitive?

I am Jewish, and I've gotten a lot of that sort of thing, given all of the wonderful stereotypes and biased metaphors.  When you are part of a minority religion, that is something you are just going to have to deal with.  It's going to hurt every time, but you learn to pick your fights.  People tend to have a double standard--they may like you as a person, but the prejudice is always there unless they make the effort to reflect and amend their beliefs.  No, you're not over-sensetive, but you will have to develop a mental toughness to that behavior.  Most of all, be a good person so that such people may eventually figure out not to base their desicions on misinformation.

You should have seen the looks I got at the school on the first and second day as I wear one and with a crystal to boot.

The trick is to not let it bother you as the more it does the more power you give to them.  You have the right to believe what you do , just as they have the right to believe what they do.

One thing I like to think is  - Peoples opinions of me are none of my business just as my opinions of them is none of theirs.

Takes all kinds in the world and what a dull place it would be is we all were the same.

Just hold your head high.  In everything there is good and bad it just depends on what you focus on.  Be greatful you are not so small minded.  And wear it with pride.

definately not too sensitive...it does happen and undfortunately it "could" happen quite a bit, depending on where u live too....But , I think to make up for people's negative thoughts, is the excitement of when you unsuspectingly run into "another one of us" "We" usually make some sort of nice compliment and just knowing that "we are everywhere"  Be proud sweetie Love and Light, Lavendar-Ice

Thanks everyone!  This makes me feel so much better.  I think what upset me so much is that I've been working with this person since last September.  She knows me, but I just felt like she was calling me "evil" by extension.  Normally, I would have just ignored it, but when I'm sick, I little piddly things like this bug me more.  

Just a side note - I'm not here as much as I'd like.  A couple of weeks ago I put some trial software on my computer at home (for a class, no less, but that's a whole other rant) and it fried my modem.  So I've got no internet at home, just work and school.  I'm getting switched over to DSL and I'm really hoping to be back up early next week!
