Lady Elaine, those words are so perfect for my husband and I since we've come "back" to the US.  We've hit so many roadblocks, but my husband (I'll call him Mr. K...lol) has been a rock through it all.  He has a similar philosophy, while I, on the other hand, tend to fall apart at the least provocation.  We've had to deal with so many people that have tried to hold us back.  (It's very hard for anyone that comes from the MidEast in the US now because of such terrible stereotypes), but the hardest thing for me to handle is the fact that most of the trouble we've had has been from people who themselves have immigrated from the Middle East.  They DO, in fact, compete with each other in a really weird, twisted sort of way that I don't understand.  Mr. K just shakes his head and goes on.  He's pulled through all of it rather admirably.
Anyhow, (so that I don't write a novel)...THANK YOU!  This one made my evening.

A referral for you.  If you get a chance see the movie "Black Robe"  It's nothing huge, just the story of a Jesuit's journey to a Canadian Huron mission accompanied by a few Algonquin.  Historically accurate and a look into history and Indian religion.

Just a note, this thread kind of got off on a Native American slant, however feel free to add anyothers, I just haven't had time to look up much. And I have to look them up since I have no "wisdom". Just survived longer than expected!

Yep, I remember that's what brought it to my attention when I read it...lol, and I still love it...

I love the Native American slant tho, there are many wonderful quotes and stories by Native Americans....I think it is very beautiful that we are able to share them here....
