Spring has finally arrived here in the form of much needed rain. Yeah, sure it's been gloomy and cold alll week, but it is so nice to actually  see green vegetation for once Smile

Ooh, it' truly heating up here in Houston!  Had to dismiss my poor students in the hot, sunny afternoon sky and the poor things looked like melting popsicles.  I tried to help them by reminding them that this is a cool day compared to the upcoming month...but they weren't amused.  However, it was beautiful this morning.  I opened the front door at 6am and the starlings were greeting the day at quite the volume which to me is the best music, even though the sun would not be up for another hour.  My poor mutt thought I was losing my mind keeping the door open in the dark, (he's all guard dog!) and couldn't stop pacing and giving me the occasional "close the door, Mom," whine.
What I truly love about our complex is that even though we are in the heart of Houston, we are snuggled into this cozy little retreat that the complex keeps well landscaped with lots and lots of greenery.  They even have a Mt. Ash growing at the edge of the swimming pool right outside my front door!  I am surrounded by pine trees and singing birds.  I absolutely love the place.

So, happy afternoon, all and blessed be.

What part of Wisconsin are you from EarthMother?  I'm up in the NW and our forecast is quite similar to yours.  This is what my front yard looked like this morning:

If April showers bring May flowers, I have no clue what will pop up from this!  Shocked

I am so PUMPED!  This morning on my way to work, I won tickets by calling into my local radio station here in the city.  I am going to see Heart, Journey and Cheap Trick in July!!  (Alright, knowing who they are dates me, but I LOVE all three groups so I scored BIG!)   hh)

I'm dead center  Morkatt, and it's snowing/raining here right now.  2-4  inches near me predicted before it's all over.  ICKY....  Looks like your area is only expecting rain or maybe a trace of snow?  Keep me posted.

When I told my husband about the concert, he was like..."who?"  Confused  Hell, no...so we had to explain about Heart and Journey and Cheap Trick, taking us back to my childhood and bringing him through the history of moi.  "No, Celine did not write "alone", thank you very much, sweetheart!"

It is so muggy here this evening.  That sort of pre-heat stickiness that hangs on and foreshadows a truly warm and unbearably humid summer.  I think I shall go jump into a puddle.

Wow, I wanna go to the concert!! Sound like so much fun! Congrats Seamonster! Very Happy  I know what you mean about stickiness....here in Monroe, LA we have that stickiness that lingers and hangs in the air as well....right now I know it means not only a very misreavle summer, but storms.....as the moisture moves up from the Gulf and hits the cold fronts coming down from up north, we get horrendous storms....thunder that rattles the windows and golf-ball size hail....it's very cool for the first few minutes....then it gets down-right frightening....a few days ago, we had storms all-day-long! It was interesting. I am also worried about the Ouachita River....with all the rain up north of us in Arkansas, it has to go somewhere! The river is rising, but we aren't in any danger yet....and they say the levees will hold....(I'll beleive that Mad )

Sundown, if you read this, you are the emergency preparedness person in-the-know....am I being paranoid???? Also, next time you stop by, I have something for you Smile  I think you will like.....alot!

Anyways, good morning yall.....still working on the Soul Cards, and they will be int he DIvination Suite very soon...also loads of new votive candles on the way....a great way to enhance your magic....I love em...affordable and exquistely scented....check em out! I am also trying to acquire more Spell-Kits to add to our store....they are complete, with all the ingredeints you need...except intent...awesome stuff!

The Fairy Encylopedia is my goal today....I don't know how many of you check out the Encyclopedias, but I am always adding info and expanding them, so we can reference and utilize the world around us.....

Have a delicious and delightful day, and be blessed!

That sounds like an awesome concert.

LE, if I'm not mistaken, we are having a La Nina year, which means that those of us who tend to get severe weather are going to get a whole bunch.  I have to admit, although I am looking for jobs, I am avoiding the DEEP south.  I lived to long in a place where you could shower at five in the morning and not have your hair dry for three days.  Plus, I am a Yankee at heart, and I barely am able to understand the way people speak in North Carolina.  Mad

I am traveling to a conference for the next two days then over the weekend I am visiting my father and grandmother.  It's the end of semester crunch here, but I always make time for family.  I am taking my father and grandmother to a Ren. Fair.  I wen tlast weekend, and it was like the Twilight Zone--I mean even for a Ren. Fair it felt weird. But, it was entertaining for the sake of people-watching if nothing else.

Well, have a great rest of the week.

Have fun at the Ren Fair Stacey, and best of luck in your job search! I agree with you about the Deep South...thetre are many folks that I do not have a clue about what they are saying...."mumble" is the "word."

The weather here I don't think I will every get used to. I have long hair and it does take quite a while to dry...and using a hiar dryer...well it does nothing but heat your head up....lol...then you need another shower because you are too hot. It's the only place I have ever lived where you feel as if you stepped into a warm dryer every time you go outside4 in the spring and summer....miserable doesn't even begin to explain it. Not to mention, the communities being illiterate and very, very poot...with only a few families with all the money, runnning the show. Politics and money go hand-in-hand down here. No jobs either...the situtation that the economy is in nationwide...well, it's been like that here for years! Property values are so low that you can get a GREAT home for next to nothing....it just exists on a flood plain, but no matter, we have levees!! LOL

They are sating severe storms here tomorrow with long-lived tornadoes.....great when you cannot have a basement! The bayou is just a 100 or so yards away....so if you dig down a couple of feet you hit water....great for plants, horrible for basements...they just don't exist. SO if a tornado rips thru here....well kiss your ass goodbye!

Life is grand! I cannot wait to get back to Colorado! I could take blizzards and snowfall...much better than tornadoes and hail the size of softballs!

Boy I'm glad you don't work for the visitor and convention bureau there LE!!!!

You'd have people running away, instead of running to visit! sheesh!!!! Shocked

Now, honestly, tell me what you REALLY think of the place! LOL

Taking youngest shopping for a pressie for her friend. A drawing kit. So heading to Michaels!

Catch ya in a few!

Kansas, the state where if ya don't like the weather, wait five minutes it'll surely change!

Wow Novia, is it that apparent that I dislike it here?

Seriously, this is not a place where I need to be.....it is a very depressing place....even with all its wildlife and greenery...it is peppered with trash and people bragging about killing animals...."tis the Sportman's Paradise." Crying or Very sad   Road kill about every 4 blocks, and the reason why we can't get any industry here is the absolute stupidity of the people. And I am NOT kidding....I have watched people throw garbage aout their windows while driving down the street....not to mention sofas in yards, dishwashers on the corner....they don't give a damn about anything regarding the Mother Earth! I went around one morning picking up trash as I walked the dog...and I was asked why I was picking up trash by a person!! Do you beleive that! When I said that I couldn't stand the filth, he told me it would wash away when it rained!

Gawds...I wish people cared....it would make it much more enjoyable...

Oh I forgot to mentiont he signs in people's yards. I first thoguht they were for sale signs...but they are signs advertising their churches.... Surprised

OMG, people are completely ignorant when it comes to the trash they pile up around them.  I was driving on the freeway this afternoon (70mph) and was hit in the windshield by an empty plastic water bottle that the person in front of me tossed out their window.  I was pissed.  Not so much because the bottle hit me (which could have caused a huge accident at 70 mph had I not been alert), but more because the bottle even tells you what you should do with it--recycle.  Unfortunately, most people don't care, because they have no concept that there is life outside of themselves...shameful!
