Has anyone ever done a Black Moon ritual before? What was the out come?

Hi Edupen,

Black Moon or New Moon (as they are commonly called) rituals are quite normal and popular..... What is it your wishing to do? They are mainly for cleansing and for working on new beginnings.

By the way Welcome to the castle! We would love to get to know you better, would you like to tell us a bit about yourself? Perhaps we can assist you further in your question about the ritual.

I have sepatered the two. To my understanding the Black Moon comes around evey 4 years As a Witch I am seeking all I can find on this, this not covered in many books. Trust me Between my wife we have a lot. HNow as Native American I always do the moon with my brohters & sisters.

As for being a witch I can not remember how long I practicing, guess it is a way of life for us.

Hi Edupen,

Here is what I know...

A Black Moon is also known as a New Moon or a Dark Moon.
Being the opposite of a Blue Moon, a Black Moon is the 3rd New Moon in a season having 4 New Moons.

Any calendar month containing 2 New Moons, the 2nd is labeled New Moon.
It is believed that the second New Moon has great spiritual powers, just as the Blue Moon has certain energies for spellwork.
The next calendar Black Moon also occurs on 8/30/08 @ 2:58pm CDT.

Please share with us any info you have on this, as I am sure other members would be interested....

I found this tidbit searching...

"In Astrology, the term "black moon" can sometimes refer to Lilith, Earth's hypothetical second moon."

By the sharing of knowledge we not only open our minds, but our hearts.

I'd love to know more as well, and Welcome!!!!  Blessings, Lavendar=Ice

This might answer your questions.

It would be interesting to see where the black moon falls in 2009.
