Wonderful that you were celebrated so thoroughly, Kath. I hope the warm boots can wait until next winter...it's time for bare toes and flip flops!

Krissy, I found an awesome site that has an index for hauntings by state and towns! The shadow lands.net  You can google it. Go to the home page and scroll down past the rules and advice for ghost hunting (also useful) and find your state and then your town. It is amazing how well put together the stories are. I looked up my little town and there were all the stories I had heard and more. So see if your town is there. Let me know how it goes! (trick)

Ooh, that site is fun.  Of course, there are a few places up in Wallace, ID that I know of that aren't listed that should be!  I used to work up there in the Melodrama Theatre.  It had once been a house of ill repute as all buildings in Wallace once were, and the 2nd floor was very eerie.  That was where our dressing rooms were.  There was more than one night I was alone up there between scenes, and believe me, the hair would stand on the back of my neck and I knew that someone wanted to communicate, but I wasn't receiving.  The housekeeper for the theatre would not go upstairs at all (it was a mess!)  There had also been reports of an ethereal woman being seen up there.

Sorry I haven't been around lately guys, life has gotten in the road, as it so often does.

Nothing bad this time though, just spending some quality time with me, and hubby, dong spring things.

Working outside when it's not raining of course. Which here the past week, hasn't been often let me tell you. Planning on more rain today, and then maybe, just maybe we'll dry out, but of course we get the mid day heat which fter all the rain turns into the mid day mugglies. We go from heater to a/c because yo can otherwise wring the wate out of the air. needless to say my chest is about as full as  a rainbarrel would be about now. I can give Barry Whbite a run for his money in the baratone deprtment, lol. Need to fill my advair, which is nearly $200, maybe in a week or so.

But ya know what. Life is good.

I started on a 'life change plan'.

The other day I had one of those epiphany, or aha moments, I guess you could call it.

I realized I control my life.  (As if I didn't know this already, read my signature sometime, lol!) I mean I REALLY realized it. I started working on my self. I got out a book I just had to have ages ago, one of those divine kick in the asses, when I was asking questions one day. it's on eating according to the glycemic index, about how our bodies process different carbs, good and bad one's. It was originally formatted to figure out how our blood sugar and insulin reacts according to different foods, and they were then given numbers, for diabetics. I had down time yesterday at work as it was a holiday and it was very very quiet, and went ah derrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, lol.  I also started taking slimquick a diet pill made for women. Only on day two and I feel better. I helps with moods, water, stress all sortsa stuffies.

Working on my Self as well. (Note: There are two selves! Little 's' denotes the lower, more physical, self, while the capital 'S' denotes the higher, spirit, Self. LOL didn't know this was gonna turn into a lesson now did ya!) Doing some soul work. Looking back over my past and letting it go. i never had much of a hold onto it anyways, but there are a few things i didn't realize had such a hold on me still. they are one's that effect me in the present, and my relationship with hubby. As much as we don't liek treading into those dark spaces we have to. We have to konck the boards off the windows that we placed there to keep the light out, and let the light stream in, shining on all the cobwebs and skeletons lurking there. (guess it's safe to say more later in the skeleton closet! lol)

I'm gonna start writing. (there I said it!) After a recent incident that occurred in my life that validated the fact I have on fucked up life, someone made comment I should put it all to paper. Would be a drama/horror but would make a good read,w ith some metaphysical tossed in for good measure.

Not sure what spin to take on it. Thinking people and places.

Planning out our vacation in July. Am so looking forwards to going I can't see straight. I plan on spending some me time up there. I already told hubby I might end up wandering off on him, but I won't go far, promise, and I won't get et by a bar neither!  My soul is telling me this is going to be a 'special vacation' another point in life changing I suppose, which I am so ready for.

I'm tired of being a victim to life, I want to be a participant of life. I want to control my life, not be at the mercy of those who make my life for me. I am strong, I really am, stronger than sometimes I even give myself credit for, physically, mentally, and spiritually as well, not to forget about metaphysically, however I hide it, out of fear, fear of what others will think, and how they will react. (one of those damn skeletons)

C. I need to dig out that last order I got and see just what I got, soemthing keeps telling me I ordered something I need. Am also going to work on that bracelet I bounced off you. Speaking of which I need to get you box together and out to you. I keep forgetting. Seems something out there keep sidetracking me from staying on target. A shadow of some sort. Gotta figure that out. I've had my head so out of sorts for so long I ahven't even been able to turn into that frequency, and I'm beginning to think there's something behind some of it.

Time for Novia to get back into her groove!!

Watch out world the bitch is one her way back!  Twisted Evil

Merry Meet Everyone!

So Novia's got her groove on!!  Way to go!  Sometimes life just pops up on ya!  It's all a matter of perception.   How do you see things?  How do you relate to things?  Just a tiny shift in perception changes everything!  And you are writing, Novia!  Excellent!  You will be able to sort it all out when you write...

As for me, I planted (in pots, remember, I am of the Crone Variety!) summer flowers.  Hubby went to nursery and found flowers that love the sun, and in the desert that is essential!  Patio looks glorious, and a bee welcomed the new additions.

We had a hummingbird with a nest in the tree in the backyard.  I was a bit sad when she left.  Today a hummingbird came by, and stopped and just well, fluttered..I was sure it was the Momma and she was saying "hey"!  Its all a matter of perception!

Right now, hubby is watching tv, and our fur-baby is sleeping on "his" couch.  I am here with all of you....all is wonderful and well in my world!  Yep. its all a matter of perception!

Hugs and many blessings,
DesertMist

Sounds awesome DM, and sgood to hear from ya.

Ya it is all a matter of how ya look at things. Kinda like a mountain and a valley. You standing in the valley looking up at the top of the mountain it looks so huge, so monumental! Then you stand on the top of that same mountain and look down into the valley everything seems so small, almost insignificant. Life's just like that, IMHO.

Guess you could say I got tired of standing in the valley looking up, and moved to the mountaintop and am peering down on everything, and ya know what, it is smell and insignificant!

MOrning cupppa clan, if there are any of us still about, lol.

Geez! I had to dig deep in the cupboard to find this thread.

Seems life is bustling for us all at the moment and we just don't have the time that we used to have during the winter months, which is nomal BTW.

I'm gonna TRY to at least pop in here for a few in the mornings before work and drop at least a hello line for one and all.

Am still doing what I can to focus on ME at the moment. I kow sounds selfish but hey the Self needs sum luvin too ya know!

Working on watching the eating thing. Cutting out MOST sweets, not all hey a girls gota have her sweet fix otherwise every man n the planet will be heading for another on casue they surely won't wanna stay on this one for too long! Ya know what I mean girls (and guys as well!)

Hubby and I went out garage/estate saling this weekend, and naturallly the powers that be lsten when I ask for sumfin, lol. I had watched a tv show about making ice cream, and thought ooo cool I'd like to try that, but don't want to buy a new one, cause well, lets say stick-to-itness isn't my forte'. I found an old (1972) ice cream parlor ice cream freezer, for 50 cents. Like new, still in the original box even! Made some banana ice cream. Not to bad! Would be better with something rather than straight, kinda rich!  Shocked

Had yet another storm blow thru here last night. think we are now near 20 inches of rain for the year so far. Rivers nearing the tops of the banks. haven't had a good flood round here since 93 when alot of things got flooded. have a long way to go before it goes over the tops of the levee's however. it's only for about 3 feet to go before it's out of it's banks, at least the Kansas river. the Mighty Mo is nearing it's tops in some places already and that was before this round of storms.

We get rain here at least every 3-4 days. not gentle showers rainfalls!

Six weeks to go until we hit the road for 10 days, heading up to the NE corner of Oregon and swinging back down thru arches national park, and by the petroglyphs just outside there.  Unless the gas prices are way to high then it'll only be to oregon and back, but we are still going out of town come hell or high gas prices! (and high water the rate we're going!)

Well guess I'd best get off here and finish my homeade yogurt parfait and cuppa and get ready for W O R K!! bad word, bad word!!

So catch ya later cuppa clan.

May your coffee be mello and your will be strong! (or vicey versey if'n ya choose!)

Tiggger pounces and huggles!

G'Morning Novia and all!

So true about being so much busier than in the winter!  Got most of the gardens in order, had to wait for rain first -the ground was like concrete for awhile, then unbelievable heat and STORMS!!  yee, gods!  But with the heat and rain everything is sprouting and growing and lush!  Now the trick is to get stuff done before the heat gets to be too much.  We hardly ever get temps in the 90's, and it's usually in August, not June!

The homemade icecream sounded sooo good.  Too bad I no longer have a young metabolism, I try to eat super healthy and I still have trouble with being too round

Its gettin' hot and humid 'round here!  I truly miss my home state (WA) because TX isn't where its at for me... (fire)
I will not be in as much from now until I get my lesson plans finished. (School)  It will take me a while.  I'm a virgo, (Virgo)  so...yeah, it might be a while before I am on regularly.
I had a great time today, however, sitting by the pool doing some of the science lesson plans.  The neighborhood kids must have gone off to camp or something (or maybe mainstream schools aren't out yet...who knows), so I was alone for a couple of hours under the umbrella with a beer and a stack of books.  I enjoyed listening to the trees whispering to me while I worked.  It was very peaceful.  I wish all of it could be that way all the time!  Ah, well...

Eve All,

Novia, you'll love the B-day Encyclopedia...they are all awesome tho! Let me know how Notes From the Universe is, I was thinking about getting that one...be safe with all the storms in your neck of the woods...I was thinking about you the other eve when I saw all the storms on weather.com. You be safe....no playing outside in the thunderstorms!!

AliceJ, ya'll be careful with all the flooding, water is a serious thing...I think we all tend to underestimate it's power. Glad to know you are safe! Tis sad what is going on with all the flooding and destruction. The Earth Changes are quick and fast now....those not leaving this plane are here for a reason...to assist others in the transistion...many folks that are near and dear to us will leave tho....we need to make sure we always move forward and encourage the lessons learned from sorrow and joy and also the rewards they can bring. The Mother Earth can be a harsh mistress....and bring us both cleansing and rebirth.

Seamonster, you're my favorite Virgo!! I know what you meanabout the humidity! Dang it's like living in a clothes dryer...and one that has damp clothes in it, at that!! I would take somewhere up north and west of here any day of the week, any hour of the day!

I have been doing very well as of late. Not having in pains, aches or problems....seems like the ole' body likes how I have been treating it as of late. The garden plants are thriving, and life seems to be settled into a routine. Wildlife everywhere, and speaking of wildlife..... I had the most amazing experience the two nights ago ....I was taking out the trash and had a Opossum jump out of the trashcan and on my head...I screamed bloody murder....watched the neighbors lights come on, too...LOL...no harm, no foul tho. Both of us (the Opossum and myself) escaped unharmed...sure was an experience tho! We also have a racoon that comes every evening to the back door and agravates the cats...tis something to behold....what a little demon she is!

The neighbor down the street has had puppies too, and they are ADORABLE....small white and black bundles of pure love...Anyway, it's just the beginning of June and you can already feel that it is going to be a hot one...time to stay inside during the heat of the day and be here in the castle.

We plan on doing some changes to the site in the upcoming weeks...so stay tuned...it's going to be an interesting Summer! The Mercury retrograde is in full swing ya'll....life is good!

Be well.....

wow, blow the dust off... it's been a while since I've posted!
Yippee Nov!  I know it's always great to get new books.  I've been craving a good book lately, and so last week I dove into the birth house by ami mckay... it was FANTASTIC!! I finished it in two days, and highly reccommend it to anyone, the only problem is that reading one good book leaves you wantin another!

today I puttered around in my weed... well... herb garden, but the weeds were fast taking over, so we call it the weed patch. They're back to a better ratio now, 2:1, plants to weeds  Wink.  I've started drying the first go of parsley, sage and peppermint, I'll do up some spearmint tomorrow.  I'm also making a vineagrette with chive flowers, so I've got a kitchen that's starting to raise the eyebrows of other members of the house, with a string of herbs over the sink, and a purple-filled mason jar in the window, as well as a new teapot with a little strainer built into it so I can start steeping my own herbal teas. Today I also transplanted my lavendar, echinacea, thyme and tomatoes from pots to the ground.  maybe mother nature will have better luck keeping them alive than I have... my tomatoes were looking pretty droopy... If I can just find some lemon grass, rosemary and licorice I'll finally be happy with the contents of my herb garden... for now.

tomorrow will be baking day.  I plan to reseason mom's cast irons because she keeps using dishsoap on them (grr...) and put the stoneware through it's paces.  gonna make a loaf of cornbread for sure, and some sort of a bar or cookie that covers our entire cookiesheet, because it needs to be baked with something a bit oily on it to keep its surface in top form.

thought I was gonna have to get my first womanly physical today, but it turns out that the good doc doesn't start doing those till you're a couple years older... phew! I really wasn't looking forward to it... he's the one that pulled this wrinkly little raisin of a child out into the world feet first, and he always really scared me as a child... we had a good chat today though, and I'm feeling a lot better about when the time comes, and our doc-patient relationship in general... that's always good!

ok, I've rambled long enough for one night!
blessings all,
Kat

I'm not crazy, it's just that I enjoy talking to the trees and singing to the moon...
