i am not suprized that you can't find anything on the runes this knowledge has taken just over a decade to collect and figure out. an elder of my faith helped me on the path of rune lore but most of it is from years of research he was only on the world a few weeks after i met him. the thing is you asked. some i may find unworthy but this to me is just knowledge that anyone seeking to use the runes should know and understand.

Torrvald,

That is the sweetest story about you helping your daughter not be afraid!!  How cute is that!!  So, very cool info on the runes......I've been interested in the runes and things Norse for quite a while......in fact I think since I was very young, since I've got quite a bit of Norwegian in me it's just been part of my life.......thank you for the info!!  Because even when you tell Cromotos, I hear about it regardless....so from one teacher to the next!

My brother does like to talk at length.......but I wouldn't have it any other way and it does make life very entertaining!!!  He knows no strangers!  Thank you for being his friend!!  He enjoys talking to everyone here and how they've made him feel involved in a better thing.

Brightest Blessings!

I am honored by your words thank you . i think that kids are placed in our care so they can teach us as we can teach them. there is nothing so special to remeber what it is like to look at the world through the eyes of a child they are not closed off and accept all that is around them. is that not the well spring of knowledge and creativity? i beleave it is. that and i am a protector by nature so those that i do protect i also try to show that there is nothing to fear and to control your own fears. it maybe a cute story but it has something within it that she learned and needed to learn so i was just doing the best i could to be a good dad and it was well worth it. all the huggles and snuggles and kisses i got made me feel awsome.
If you have any questions also just ask . ok. i am not as secretive about it than others who follow the norse ways.
it pleases me that i have been a help to him and there fore you also i am almost am certain that he may have a bloodline to Loki himself to me it is a good thing and something that at times must be directed cause of the chaos that it can cause but it does keep life interesting and that is a bonus for the laughing god helps him i can feel it within him.
it is good anyway you look at it.

That wouldn't surprise me Torrvald because he is always up to some mischief and always laughing!  And things can get a bit chaotic......but he loves that.......and I love that it always makes life interesting!  I appreciate your willingness to share info with me!  I will most likely take you up on that offer once I can get some specific questions.....I'm not always as good as expressing myself or posing questions as well as my brother, and in many cases i rely on him to get the juicy info!

I'm not around children all that much anymore, or at least not compared to when I was working at Disney, but it is a magical experience to see through their eyes.  It just amazes me how innocent and open their minds are to all the impossibles......and it helps to remind me how I used to be.  I think it's great that you were able to help her overcome her fears....you sound like a great dad!

I have a book with the Norse legends that i'll probably let Cromotos borrow so that he can get some ideas as to the personalities of the Norse Gods.  Hopefully it will give him a start!

Brightest Blessings

it is okay in real life i am much more closed. i don't let too much about myself out and usualy keep people at a distance. i also had a problem putting my questions in words others would understand. but if you do have a question for me and you don't want it on any posts here then PM me.

chaos seems to be a common thing for those who are touched by the Norse Gods. it was said that that is how you could tell a godborn from the other people of man. is that with the mingling of the blood of gods and men there were inate abilities and sighns of the higher blood a type of chaos always follows in there wake. depending on there progenitor was the kind of chaos that followed them.
Very Happy

You know what Torrvald?  I don't really ever go to the ocean........it's beautiful.......but I don't actually go in the water.....as I've been attacked by many a sea creature......makes me nervous now to go in the water.  But I love being near it and listening to the waves on the shore......very peaceful.

Cromotos........don't forget I have German and Lithuanian blood ties as well.......for all we know we have ties there as well!!

I'm really liking that I'm starting to get back into the Norse...I never went far it's just I've been a bit distracted of late.  I also have a bit to do with Celtic...mostly interested in the Scottish Celt flavors....which is hard to find stuff on....at least it has been hard for me.  But I love hearing more about the Norse!

Thanks guys!

Brightest Blessings

Cromotos
the prizmatic eyes are comon for those who have mixed blood. human and other worldly. my eyes change colors also they usual change from dark blue to bright green and a mixture of them sometimes they look yellow.  to the norse it ment that it would further solidify a clame to godly blood or faye blood. It was also beleaved that with the prizmatic eyes it granted you the abilies and powers beyond the normal people and the eyes were the mark that you had inborn power of other worldly origin. it wasn't just with the norse too many of the anceint celtic tribe beleaved this and in the old slavic they beleave this also.
with me it reminds of the frustration it has caused in some and my past relationships when they would get me a nice shirt to match my eyes and i would put it on and my eyes would change. drove some totally batty  Twisted Evil  it still makes me smile to think of it.
most of the time the claim of other worldly blood has been lost due to the converting of the people just like to make such a claim or to be known for it went from being a good thing to something they could kill you for. in my famly luckly i gained access to an ancestral "bible" for a time in the book among the spells it talked about the faye blood. As for the godly blood the first time i seen Thorr he called me son. and with some of the things that happen when i do ritual i couldn't deni it.
you don't have to have actual blood ties to the gods eather. you were consitered a child of that god if they were obviously with you at all times. so even if you don't have a direct line you can still be consitered a child of that god. some children are chosen from birth to carry the gift without any actual ties to that god.  like me i don't know if i actualy have a direct blood link to Thorr and the madrid of blood lines is dizzing that i have. i have swiss, german, prussian, scotish, english, irish, and two tirbes of native american on my moms side. on my dads i have german, dutch, french, and another tribe of native american.
i am glade you liked the name that came to me for your sword. as long as you like it and it fits then great.

Merenwen,
i am sorry you had some bad experiances with the ocean. the most memorable time for me was during a full moon on a white sand beach by sharkies there was just a few clouds in the sky the stars shown brightly. and the sea foam touched the tops of the waves and the edge of the beach and the light breeze just added to the effect of the night. the pulse of the earth and water was almost over powering. it was incredably romantic and magickal. i just wish i would have had someone there to share the experiance with but atleast i have the memory and to me it just was more beutiful than words could discribe.
i tried to learn more about the pictish magickal stiles and there isn't realy hardly anything left. there designs were so beutiful and there writing ways. i knew the recipy for the wode and made it once the effects were amazing. i wouldn't do it again. My veiw maybe alittle differnt when it comes to celtic peoples i follow what many of the ancient norse veiwed the celtic people as yonger brothers and sisters to us. i honor them and there ways . it is just that i have primarily studied the norse i wanted to become and arciologist specializing in northern europe tribes. things happend that prevented me from doing it but i never lost my desire to know as much about the anceint norse as i could.

Alright would be cool. i would love to go back to florida some time when i can afford it. i kinda know how you feel about the whole shark in the water thing when i was down there i also scuba dived for the first time well i was checking out a coral formation when a tigger shark came close to me to was cool but scarey at the same time cause the shark came about three feet from me!! after that i went back to the boat even though i had twenty minutes of air left. the shark was about six feet long too.  Surprised

a key is what it came out for you.  Smile  i think it is a sign for you things and new ideas are going to be unlocked for you. paths hidden will become open to you now. i think that is what Loki is telling you.
Wink
there is a book that i had that was verry good i liked it. it was by an auther by the name of sven swanson it was called myths of the norse i think. i let someone barrow the book and it was never returned to me so the title might be wronge. it had aleast one story about each of the gods and then it had heroic sagas like the volsung saga.

I have a fear of sharks myself......if I had been swimming next to one......well.....it wouldn't have been fun for me.....probably very funny to watch......I think it's from watching JAWS at a much to early age!  Everytime I go into the water at the beach I hear that music!!  It's probably pretty funny to see me running back out of the water when that happens!

Cromotos......this is way kind of a different way to learn about Loki and the Norse......but there's this opera by Wagner, Der Ring das Neiblung that deals a lot with the myths of the Norse......I've told you about it before, and I know it's really long, but I would at least recommend watching or at least reading the translation for Das Rheingold, the first in the cycle......it makes for an interesting intro....  just a thought for you.
