awhile ago I had a nasty falling out with a long time friend...naturally they've already moved on with their lives and gotten over it completely, but I'm still bothered by it. I get too attached to people so this seperation has been rough. (everyone around me telling me to "just get over it" didn't work...) I know it's unhealthy for me to dwell on the past, but no matter what I do or how long I'm apart from them the emotions don't seem to be going away.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a meditation technique or a simple spell (no exotic ingredients if possible) that can rid my thoughts of them for good. We have a mutual friend still so I can't exactly "banish them" from my life entirely...but I'd like to forget them, and not flinch every time their name is mentioned. I want to be over it like they are and just move on with my life so I can start being mentally healthy again. Releasing the clutter would also help me become more connected spiritually. Thanks for reading

I know how you feel.

Sitting in a comfy position breath deeply.  You know the usual meditation exercise to relax.

Once you are relaxed picture a circle ( how ever you like to see it, I usually se really big old stones covered with moss etc.)  Step inside the circle and know that this is a protected circle that you are the only one to speak once inside.  There is no negativity no hate, nothing but happiness, love, safety.  Now call forward the person you wish to say goodbye to.  See them on the edge of the circle and invite them into it with you.  Now thank them for all of the time together, remember good and bad.  Thank them and then tell them they no longer hold a place in your life or on your path, thank them for the time they have been with you and the lessons you have learnt with them.  Tell them they are free to go on their own path and wish them well.  Imagine you are cutting all ties with that person.  No see them with a smile on their face step outside the circle and wave goodbye to you and you to them.  Send them on with love and well wishes.

You may need to do it a couple of times if you have problems with letting go.

I usualyy go into more depth with it, but it is a personal thing.

Hope this helps you.

Juniper, there is no easy way to remove people from our lives, because well, they are part of us oce they become part of our life.

We form connections with people for reasons. We learn from them, we grow with them.

Sure it would make life easier if we were just able to take their picture out of our album and that was that, but alas little one, it's not that way.

I'm sorry that this is tough for you, but in time, it will grow easier, as long as you want it to. I mean really WANT  it to.

We have to deal with the loss of people in our lives and yes, we have to move forward, without them.

Be it thru the death up of a longtime friendship, or death itself. We as a person have to simply walk on.

Even once you get to the point that you can see them, hear their names, and even speak with them again, you will always in some way be connected to them.

They were friends, close friends by the sounds of it, therefore you have some very tight nit ties with them. You have some issue it seems that you have to deal with before you will be able to walk on from all of this.

I'm not going to profess to ahve a clue what it is, only you can do that.

Take time and think about why it is you are having such issues with moving forward as they have.

Is there some guilt issue? I

s there simply some posseeivness issue?

I imagine once you figure out why YOU can't move forward, and remove that stone sitting in the middle of your path, you will walk onward in your life, taking the good times with these people and growing even more.

I used to have a friend, and although she always tried to convert me on the surface she did accept me deep down.  We had to part ways when my mother passed on because she was the type that needed to be needed, and I didn't "need" her "enough" when Mom passed away for her liking.

My responcibility was to fulfill Mom's final wishes and to my family.  Not to if I was calling her every hour of every day, begging for guidance from someone who had yet to bury one parent let alone the last one.

Some friends we outgrow.  Life takes turns that lead us down seperate paths.  It's a natual part of living.  Doors close and windows open.  The circle of life happens.
