from http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/po/050106.shtml: Great tits challenge evolutionary theory
"Researchers at the EGI have been studying great tits in Wytham, Oxfordshire, since 1947. For the purposes of this study, the researchers analysed the weight of [great tits] at Wytham over a 36-year period. The team found that over time, [tits] in different parts of the same woodland had evolved in different directions, getting heavier in one part and lighter in another.

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Tit: Behaviour
"Blue and Great Tits form mixed winter flocks, and the former are perhaps the better gymnasts...Blue tits are very agile and can hang from almost anywhere. The Blue Tit has an average life expectancy of 1.5 years"

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_tit:
"Great Tits are easy to recognize, large in size at 14 cm...Great Tits come in many races, but they fall into three groups. Great Tits in temperate Europe and Asia are essentially green above and yellow below. Great Tits in China, Korea, Japan and southeastern Russia are green above and white or yellow-tinged white below"
