Evening (morning in my case... it's 6:15 pm my time, but I work night shifts)

So I woke up around 7pm (a bit late) yesterday and walked out of my room and saw a kennel.  I found a water dish and animal food scattered around the living room and my roomies bed (he sleeps in the living room xD, his choice)  So I start looking around for whatever creature he brought into our house, he has everything from ferrets to lizards.  His beautiful wolf hybrid passed away very recently, so I knew he'd be looking for another dog, but I didn't think this soon.

Suddenly I hear a meow... and then a second meow... same cat? Under the bed we've got two gray tabby males just chillin' out.  One looks similar to my old cat Shadow (2001 - 2007) a dirty matted light gray with a cream under coat, the other one is dark gray with black stripes. Their names... Bubbaganoush and Cheeseburger Eddie.  I didn't name them!

Now, I love animals... gaah so so very very much.  I haven't seen my dog in a few months and my cats both recently passed away at the age of 6 or 7. (feline distemper)  The problem is, we're not allowed to have pets, if we were; I'd have a new kitten, my dog Logan, and a fish tank.  So now we have two adult male cats.

Our land lady can kick us out if she wants to, we're already packing up to leave anyways; my problem is, they're outdoor cats, and there are "power spots" in my house.  I do quite a few rituals, and have even done a circle or two in my home, and despite me cleansing my area, my hubby-to-be is a chaos magickian, and he doesn't cleanse his energy well.  Every time one of these cats go near or even into the bubble of that power spot, they start dashing around the room like they're on caffeine.

Now, I like these cats, and they're not going anywhere; I just want to know if there's a way to get them used to having pockets of energy around, and kinda get them used to having a few witches for family members

A second, simpler question is: the smaller one, Bubba likes to grab and play bite/lick your hand or arm when petting him, what can I do to get him to stop that?  They're about a year old so I'm wondering if it's too late.

Thank you, Bright blessings.

Time should help the energy issue, and as far as the biuting thing goes, put some hot sauce or some other not so nice tasting stuff on your hand and let him lay into that!!! A few times might disuade the tendancy as he'll not be sure if it tastes good or bad!  Twisted Evil

Hot sauce is a good idea, but to go around with hot sauce on your hand until your cat decides to be fiesty?  The key is *immediate* consequence when he bites.  The taste of hot sauce would be immediate so that's good.  Or have you ever watched cats play?  When the play gets too intense for one, he will usually "bop" the other on the head or face with his paw and hiss.  Do the same.  Alittle rap on the top of his head and however you want to "hiss" (a sharp loud word or actually hiss or growl loudly) should get the point across fairly quickly.  If not, rap harder and hiss louder, make eye contact and follow him as he backs away.  This is "Knock it off!" loud and clear in cat-talk.  If it turns into all out war, when he grabs your hand grab the scruff of his neck with your other hand, hold him up at eye level, make eye contact and keep it for a few seconds while telling him biting is an absolute no-no.  Keep the position until he shows you signs of submissiveness (looking away, ears going sideways and down).  Holding cats by the scruff of the neck does not hurt them, it's how their mothers carry them, and it actually triggers a calming, submissive reaction in them.

Hope this helps.  My cats love my sacred circles, bit distracting really when doing magick or meditation, but also endearing that they want to join in.

Never thought of that, and yeah, I bopped him a few times and gave a good hiss and growl.  He hasn't really bitten me after that.  Hot sauce though? *Shudder* hate to get that in my mouth.  Right now they're tied up outside, with their kennel, food and water.  They're not at all happy, wearing harnesses and leashes, and the poor buggers are probably scared to death.  The roomies want them to get used to being close to home first though, and we can't keep them outside, they've already decided to spray somewhere in the house. *Sigh* too bad, I wanted to see how they would deal with a small 'grounding' ritual, but I'm going to do that outside anyways.

Thanks for the tips, I just told my buddy that and he said the next time Bubbaganoush tried to bite him he'd do the same.  I'll be sure to let the boys (and soon girl) know.  Apparently we're getting a 5th room mate, from three to 5... we need a bigger house.  If I'm lucky I'll be able to claim a spot of my own so I can practice in peace.  I don't like having to tone down my rituals anymore then the boys toning down their music and games.

Thanks again ^_^

P.S I'll try to get pictures of them so you can see.

hehe, they've been really good.  I feel bad having them outside because it's cold at night.  Even in July, it drops to about 50 - 60 F so they get cold easily.  Scott insisted that they're used to it, but I still wished I had them inside.  Their harnesses and leashes are good, they aren't freakin' out too badly which is nice to see.  I'm going to save a bit, get a vet to check them out, buy them collars and tags, and if I still have enough money, get them chipped as well.

I also did a cat protection blessing as a welcome to our family, as well as to keep them safe.  They seemed drawn to the energy and Eddie came out and sat still, while Bubba curled up in my lap and slept while I sang.  ^_^

Hope you guys have a good one, I gotta figure out how I'm gonna stay awake for another 8 hours (it's 1 am) since I work tomorrow night.  blarg.

Greetings,
Sorry for the delayed response.  The energy think can actually be quite amusing.  I have a couple of pentacle rugs and one of them is round and it is really funny sometimes to watch the cats run around the circle.  I love watching them and it is cute how sometimes they will start out going counterclokwise and then switch and go clockwise.  And boy do they look like they are on a mission.  As far as the biting I agree that you should lightly give them a tap and hiss another good thing to do is have a little spray bottle of water and when they are doing something you don't want them to do then give them a little squirt with the water.  That teaches them pretty quickly and won't hurt them.  As for the spraying unfortunately that is a male cat thing and won't be fixed until he gets fixed by the vet.  That is something that all male cats do.  Anyhow I hope this helps.  I hope you are having a great day.

May the road rise to meet you.

Not to put a damper on everything, but even a neutered male cat can still spray if he isn't caught in time.  I still have to get my kitty (Willow) spayed, but I'll still give her a couple of months.
Its good that they were so responsive to your blessing.  They sound like they might settle in right nicely!

Bubbaganoush ran away, they got tangled up in our white fenced garbage container and he slipped out of his harness, the way I found the harness dangling, I think he got hurt.  His brother wasn't much better, but I was able to free him and get him untangled.  I already told my roommates and Eddie is looking frantically for his brother.  I took Eddie out on a walk in hopes of luring him home.  I'm very certain that Eddie is my old familiars soul in another cat.  He and I are very drawn to each other, he'll meow when I'm coming home from a walk and he'll eat my hair like Luke and Shadow did.  I'm a bit worried that Bubba is going to get hurt, or bring home something he shouldn't, whether that's a disease or a 'friend' (another cat or an aggressive dog chasing him.)  I'm not used to having outdoor cats so I don't know what to expect.

We have our door open so that when Bubba comes home he can run inside and hide, but the leash on Eddie barely lets him in, and he's crying for attention.  I brought him downstairs for a little bit though, got some cuddle time and he's quieted up.  I'm seriously going to get pictures of them when Bubba gets home.

I normally don't ask for spells (I like writing my own... spells and tattoo's should be the same: Make them Yours and design your own) but I do ask for suggestions about some idea's for spells to safely bring Bubba home, at least so I can take them to the vet at the beginning of the month.  Thanks ^_^

P.S. I have two tatoo's, one on my left arm and one on my right, both are my drawings.  The one on my right I got when I turned 21 in June. It's a howling wolf with a flame - like tribal design I've done since I was 14.  The second one is a wolf paw with a pentacle in side the 'palm' of the paw.  The star is a really nice light purple, and the paw is shaded to look like a real print.  I'll get pictures of those eventually too.

Thank you all for replying.  Prayers to everyone for their kindness for this shy little Canadian.

Luna, have you checked the trees around your place?  I am sending you energy.  Good luck!

We have the door open, and Eddie is inside taking turns cuddling with me and Scott, and pretty much just hanging out.  I'm going to ask Chris to take me to the Metaphysics store so I can buy a piece of Malachite (I found it attracted Luke and Shadow, so it might do the same for Bubba.) and some oil.  I'm not sure what would be a good "return home" oil would be, but I think I have some of Bubba's hair, if not I have Eddie's to use.

BTW: Bubbaganoush is pronounced Bubba-Gah-noo-shh.

Is that what Bubbaganoush means?  I haven't been able to figure out how in the name he managed to get named that.  I knew it was food, both him and "Cheezburger Eddie" are named after food (obviously).  I assume the people who had them were constantly stoned.

Babaganoush is a middle eastern eggplant dip, to give it a brief description.  Delicious.
