Astrology for the Week of August 11, 2008
Are you ready for round two of August's mega-eclipses? Of course you are, you LOVE change, you LOVE something that knocks you off your patterns and into a new dimension of awareness and clarity so that your life can be even more exciting than it has been--or maybe you don't.
What I like most about the Lunar Eclipse (as different than the Solar Eclipse) is that it tends not to create as much chaos as we get closer to it. If you remember the last week in July (the Solar Eclipse was August 1), it was probably a pretty intense week! I don't think a day went by for me that didn't have me questioning what I was doing and why. Certainly, those aren't bad questions and those are the kind of thoughts that many of my friends probably wished I asked more frequently.
But those are the kind of questions that can lead to paralysis if the intent behind asking them isn't to better oneself. At any rate, you made it through that first week and that's all that matters--Congratulations.
Now it's time to get through the second round of Eclipse magic and I'll venture to say that this is going to be a much easier ride, but before you get too confident, there are some things to be aware of.
Week of August 11:
Mercury leans us toward Pessimism. Mercury enters the critical (as in "critic" and less as in "important") sign of Virgo so we are likely going to be extra vigilant on what's wrong with things. You may want to get your thinking around what you want rather than what you don't want, it's a common mistake when setting goals.
Confusion is rampant! The Sun and Neptune are not getting along too well. They are setting up a dynamic that suggests you could easily be taken advantage of if you aren't grounded. On one hand it's wanting a dream so badly to come true that anything that remotely resembles that outcome is seen as more legitimate than it should be. This is the kind of aspect that would make you send money to the Chancellor of Nigeria to help them pay for the legal fees needed to make you the inheritor of their 4th cousins best friend.
Creativity is high! The same Sun Neptune connection makes you incredibly creative. If you are an artist (painter, musician, actor, etc) you will have much to draw from under this aspect.
Relationships become solidified! A Venus Saturn connection is driving us to get serious with our peeps. Many of you are going to want to know who you are, where you are going and why you want to do it with this person. This is a great time to get your boundaries established and maybe some people will fall to the side of the road--maybe it was long overdue. This is also a good time to set up the things that make you feel secure like savings accounts, alarms, contracts, or even a good diet.
Anger is High: On the day of the Eclipse, Mars is going to be fighting with Pluto putting what could be seen as a damper on this day. But is it?? Mars and Pluto can be the most real "I'm-not-going-to-put-up-with-anything" kind of connection and there is a good probability that you wont. This makes it a great day to launch a business where you want to have an aggressive stance (meaning a business where that kind of stance pays off - like marketing as an example).
If you have a softer kind of business, then wait until things get a little smoother (2012 - kidding), like next week.
The Lunar Eclipse: The Full Moon Eclipse is at 24 Aquarius and is fully engaged at 2:16pm Pacific (5:16 Eastern) on Saturday, August 16th! Certainly if you know your chart you can place this in there and see where the activity is going to be taking place. Otherwise, you should know that the last two weeks have been some of the biggest rounds of change on every level and this Moon is the last of the activators.
Most of you already know what's changing in your life and are flowing with the experience. Because this Eclipse is in Aquarius it will give you a sense of being above your life, looking down as if you were an eagle (rather than a mouse whose perspective is more into the minutia). This Eclipse is the road map to your future, the plan that you lay out since you can now see where you are. Many of you will find that where you thought you were heading is actually quite different than where you actually are heading.
The Full Moon Eclipse on the 16th promises to bring you a gift, symbolic of the generous nature of Aquarius towards humankind. The big caveat here is that Mars and Pluto are activating a lot of energy so if you can just bite your tongue long enough to let the energies heat up, much like the early Alchemists, you'll find that whatever you've been working on gets turned to gold. I really mean that. Your hard work, is now getting transformed and this Eclipse is the symbolic turning point.
