Sad   OK.  So I'm not going to the beach this weekend.  Ike got his way with Louisiana......again.  Those in the southwest part of the state are evacuating with those from Texas and we here in North La. are on standby to take in the sick that can't go to a general shelter and are not hospital worthy.  We are going on our 3rd weekend of this.  No days off.  12 + hours a day.  We've been doing this since 8-29.  It didn't dawn on me until this afternoon that this is our 3rd weekend without a day off.  I don't mean to whine, but I'm tired as are many others I work with.  I don't see how some of them are still going that are tasked with making some major decisions.  Oh, and my daughter and two small grandsons are coming from Galveston to stay with who else but Nanna.  Don't misunderstand, I'll be glad to see them, but I'll also be glad to see them leave.  I'm tired people!!  I need a break!

Hang in there hun. I know what you mean. We've been running ragged at work. People are getting more and more grumpy. An now the southeren most of the parish has been told they have to evacuate again. Those places are still with water about a foot in some and now water is rising again.

When I'm not at work I'm cleaning up yards, going pick up meals for those that can't. We rescued one dog and found the owner, but now we have a second one, and having a hard time finding who it belongs to. The Animal shelter isn't taking calls and they already have their hands full. Today I put my foot down a took the day off to clean my own house and try to get things together, and boss man calls and bitches me out for it. I said a few choice words and now I have to have a chat with him tomarrow morning as soon as I come in. All i can say is he'd better watch it. I've been had it with them and am so ready to quit. My daughter informed me that she's finished over there and quit today. I understand theres alot on his shoulders but treating employs like crap won't make things better.

Just remember it'll come back to you in your time of need. Hang in there, I'm abit low on energy but will send you some to help you hang tight. Much love to you as well.

You know you'd think in times like these it would bring out a little humanity in everyone, but instead it gives some of the bigger assholes that take over their whole being!  Evil or Very Mad

Sending out a lifeline whatever energies anyone needs. It's your's for the taking, Goddesss knows I got plenty to share!  Shocked

When some people with insecurities get scared, they turn into their fears.
Amethystone, at least we can visualize the beach this weekend while we're each going through our stressful times.  Very Happy I love to go to Galveston, but, I will have to settle for the Bahamas come Saturday. (in my imagination, anyway!)  Enjoy your time with your family, and when they go, shake off all that excess energy and enjoy the silence!  I don't have grandkids yet (not anytime soon, I hope), but they're like my students.  You get to send them home to their own parents at the end of the day.  *sigh*.  You love them very much, but... Mad

I'm going to light a virtual candle for our Galvestonians and  I will say a special blessing so that your daughter doesn't lose anything important in the storm. (candle)

No don't be sorry. It good to get things off the chest.

I know that we got lucky once again. An I am oh so greatful for it. An for that I go out an do whatever I can to help others. Even if it's just a shoulder to lean on. At work it all about the money. People need food and big stores don't care about those needs, they are more worried about the loss of money. My real joy comes from helping clean up, going get meals, let people come an use my computer, doing their laundry at my home so they can have clean clothing and not worry about finding a place that they would have to pay at. But after a while we get tired, worn out, and want it just stop. An yet we keep on. I can't tell you how many times I've come here just to unload. It helps me and I can refocus, rest my mind if not my body and get going all over again.

I to wish for an end, we need our time to greeve for the loss of my hubby's Dad. He past on last Wed. and have yet to be able to lay him to rest. But there is no time for that right now.

Oh look at me just going on and on. So don't feel sorry for being worn out and needing to unload. I bet after you posted this you did feel a little bit better, right?.

Inde I am so sorry!!! You so did not need more on top of it al. I hope it wsn't due to the storm.

Soon hurricane season will be gone, and then we move on, to the next season, and the tragedies that come with that one I'm sure. I guess one thing we all have to deal with is Momma kickin up her heals and pitching a bitch!

I was sitting watching tv last night, the new gren channel, and was floored by how fast things have done a 180 and people are putting forefront that which should have at least been midground all along, nature. Is it too little too late, or is there still a chance to salvage something of our loverly Mother Earth and Grandfather Sky. The most of the human race I've kinda given up on at this point, and just hope the planet can be saved. (Don't worry LE I haven't totally given up on all of them, just most of them!)

Well I guess I best get off here and get ready to tackle my day, and I'm so ont going to let it be as bad as yesterday was!

the 9/11 memorials, and memories knocked this ole girl off her block yesterday. So much energy was flowing yesterday it was unbelievable. Positive for the most part, but still intense. There is so much energy running loose these days that I often wonder if it is not what is responsible for so much of the things going on in the universe. ( I know it is!)

Well everyone stay safe today!

You are a blessing to all of us, and to those around you.  I think what you are doing is fabulous.  I didn't know you'd lost your father in law.  I'm very sorry.  Lots of light and hugs to you and your family.  May you find rest and peace in all that you do.

I don't have much energey to spare but will ask Grandfather Oak to help. I will soon be able to put up pics of the chalkboard of hope from a shelter. Amazing how strong those that have lost everything or don't know if they have anything to return to can be. The press only puts on the bitchers and whiners. Be well all. Remember I am there and sending what I can.
Blessings
Sundown

Kids made it here ok.  Just heard on weather channel that Kemah has no power and 6 feet of water.  That is less than 1 mile from where they live.  Needless to say she is concerned about her house there and her hubby who is leading up the first team of search and rescue for the Coast Guard there in Houston.

Thank you Sundown.   Very Happy   How can I forget Grandfather Oak?  He is always with me.  Thank you and keep yourself safe and dry.

Hey Trinity, whereabouts in the Twin Cities were you? We were all right over near the bayou...but I heard WM got messed up a pretty good bit. I didn't see any of it myself - I don't cross the river unless I have to - but I had to come in to work that one really bad night because the two guys on the night shift had to leave to go to WM. One was helping sandbag two of his friend's houses, and the other had to go home and help his mother because their home was already underwater. It was crazy - and people still wandered out into the weather to rent a few movies >.> Also we were out in Lake Shore that evening and the water was up so bad we nearly didn't make it back into the city. Like I said, crazy.

I'm set to work evenings to midnight all weekend. I'm hoping the massive amounts of coming rain will encourage people to stay the fuck at home, but people never seem to do what you think they ought to. It really chaps my hide that people would wander out into the elements, purposefully putting themselves and others at risk, for entertainment purposes. Still, I'm trying to stay positive - there's enough negative energy out there without my input and I certainly would rather focus on making things better.

Keep your chin up, everyone! We'll weather this storm yet, I believe it! I'm keeping you all in my thoughts =)

I live on Trenton. I never really saw any bad damage other than some limbs from treesin the road and some flooding.
