I never even thought about it until tonight but this hurricane is about to drive up prices. I work in a gas station and the manager had to come in to night to change the prices. She expects it to go up again in the morning.
You see because of the hurricane and evacuations they are having to close some of the refineries in Texas and of course are using that as an excuse to jack up prices. Most of the gas stations around here have not gone up yet,
so I assume most around the country have not.
So if you read this tonight or this morning try to get your tank filled as early as possible to try and beat the rising prices. Some think the prices could be near $5 by Monday (I hope not)
Hopefully the prices will come down quickly after the storm passes but it's better to be safe than sorry. If the hurricane gets to bad it could mess up the roads making it difficult to open businesses (including refineries) or the storm could cause damage to the refineries themselves. It probably won't but I plan on topping off my tank tomorrow morning to be on the safe side. (Every one was closed by the time I got off work tonight.)
Every one in the storms path I hope you stay safe. If you plan to stay put please make sure you have enough supplies.
