Well hello everyone.

So very good to see you all again.

I got back from my holiday last week, we had a wonderful time.  Visited with all the family, went to the most wonderful cyrstal shop , markets, safari park, beaches and the list goes on.  We did have a whirl wind of a time.

Although I did the ligaments in my left knee while on holiday and am now with a splint and  on crutches, this was a downer for a short time, but I was determined not to let it get me down.  Have been having some wonderful healing work done and look at it as a chance to put to old feet up and have some me time.  So on that note I started my aromatherapy course, figer iF I can't work and am on the couch most of the day I may as well put it to good use.  I also got some wonderful books while away and intend to read them.

I have not yet caught up on all that has been happening in the castle since the last time I was here, but I sure do hope you are all well.   And is so good to see you all again.

Blessings to you all

Novia, so sad the ren faire wasn't up to snuff for you!  Ours here is one of the highlights of my summer, I would be so bummed if it wasn't good.  Got some really nice hair sticks this year, I wear them all the time and was yearning for some variety.

Earth Mother, I'm keeping a good thought for you and your job situation.  We got a talk last week where I work, basically reassuring everyone that no one was in danger of losing their job "at this point", but it sure sounded like they were gearing up for the "no raises this year" talk soon.  Unfortunately I think it's gonna get worse before it gets better.  Glad for the little garden I've got and the veggies I put up for this winter.  I know it's not really very much but it makes me feel better.

Keep a good thought for my son, if you would, everyone.  The good news is he's been invited to speak about his research project at a college in Paris (yes, France......really!), the bad news is I worry about everything from plane crashes to terrorist plots to muggings, food poisoning, Montezuma's revenge, kidnappings, the Bermuda triangle, alien abduction, accidents that cause amnesia......you get the point.  Ok, Novia, stop laughing, I know, I know!!!

Poor kath!!!! Crying or Very sad  Energies heading your way should you need them!

Acasia, I can hear the clucking from here....Our "mother hen" instinct makes us worry about our babies, mostly without reason, once they are grown.
There is more chance of a lightning strike on a fine clear day than of any or all of the horrors that you mention actually occurring.
The world is nowhere near as hostile a place as the scaremongers would have you believe (usually for political reasons of their own!).
Yes, there are "tygers" everywhere you may go, which is why one of the best things we can teach our children is to be a little "streetwise".
There are places/times/situations to avoid. Not being there is the surest way keeping out of danger. Some of us venture into bad places with a "victim" sign on our chests, and wonder why we get mugged or whatever.
He will be fine.

Merry Meet All!

Who knew the Cuppa Coffee would morph to volume 3!?  Brilliant! (I know, spelling sucks and so does typing - I am correcting and spell checking but read on and you will understand)  I love it!  Okay. so where I have I been?  Well as some knew, my server had probs with Lady E's server and it really never was fixed until "something" changed with the servers.  I give accolaides to Lady E simply because my server wouldn't do nought.  So lost time there.  Lady E's server fixed it, I am now changing servers.

Well then mundane cut in to the point of "Okay, got my job oh and kiss my patooki, got my resume and gonna put out there!"

Enter the young man who was selling all his things off so he could take his fiance on a trip to Africa before they were married .. ya know, they had to do Missionary work.  hey were Mennontites and that okay but; too bad he fell asleep at the wheel and hit hubbie and I at over 50kph.  Seems he forgot to sleep for two days.  And he still went to Africa.

So we're without a car and trust me, in Winnipeg coming up to winter with three kids - ya need a car - our transit bites.  Oh, and I'm off work with a "minor brain injury".  What does that mean? I stammer and stutter - when I never used to.  I cannot remember what I do from one hour to to the next.  Hell,  some days I don't even know what day of the week it is .  Minor huh?  Aint minor to me.  Still I keep my "humour".  Those who know me know it's "dry"  The kids are killing themselves laughing 'cause if I yell at them I can't talk.  No probs.  I just remove the game controller to the XBx360 and "lose" the twins' cell phones.  Funny how that happens.  LOL

I see there have been some changes here and it's all good.  Lady E, if I forgot to send a thank you to yourself for your generosity and graciousness in the package to to mt GF well bad on me.  I thank you so much for that - your brought much joy to her.  Sadly,  she is now diagnosed with Crohn's and it really isn't looking well for her.  Still, she reads your grimoires and tries them on for size.  Thank you for giving her that gift.  I still want the Grimoires for myself but gee now I have to pay for a car.

What pisses me off and yes I will say PISSES me off the most bout this.  I am glad everyone walked away from the accident.  No one was killed, maimed or even taken to hospital.  Gotta love them air bags.  Our car was totalled (A 1998, cherry red Grand Prix in MINT condition) as was his.  I am stuck fighting with my doctor ' reseptionist and MPIC to get my off-work benefit and the silly git is in Africa touring the Serengeti with his fiance.  I WANNA SEE THE SERENGETI!!!!

Still EVERYONE walked away and no one was maimed or killed.  That is better than good.  And really, what is another $350.00/month in  my budget?  The price of Hubbie's and my life - it seems small.  Really, we should have been killed and Goddess was watching over us.

So I am glad to be back and hope to remember my password (only took me three weeks - UNHEARD of for me) LOL.  I wrote it down.  I have missed all and hope to to hear from all.

Blessings from the North,

Kest

ps - Lady E - ya want some dried Lavender?  Figured out how to get it across.  Aloramyst, did you get the two seed packets I sent you?!  And CoyoteMoon - I have finally found the Desert Rose Seeds.  Any one intersted?  I got seeds!  Desert Rose, Hibisus and a few of CoyoteMoon's - just 'cause they won't grow in Zone 3. Evil or Very Mad   Dammit! Evil or Very Mad

Kestrel, I'm just gonna send you some luvin', healing light!  Sounds like you have your hands full on top of having your accident.  I am so glad that you are alright, but it still isn't easy on the financial end of it, I can tell.  Its nice to see you keeping your head up, though.  (I'd be a basket case in your situation! Shocked ) Keep on keepin' on, sweetie.

We had a nice rain (unexpectedly) yesterday morning and then the afternoon was beautiful with a good wind.  I love it.  Its nice that the weather is toning down a bit and its not as hot as it has been.  I don't deal so well with the heat.  You can always put more clothes on if you're cold, but when you're hot, you can't take enough off. Confused

Well, it's off to school, where they've removed all the carpets because of Ike and left the gluey-sticky floor bare so that we feel as if we are walking on flypaper, (But they haven't fixed the roof yet!   ).

Kestrelwing...
Seems the excrement has collided with the rotary atmospheric turbulator in a big way for you.
From what you post, I gather that neither party in your accident was carrying insurance..........?
It's funny how the prime mover in these sort of situations nearly always seems to get off with viritually no consequences, whereas the victim ends up with all the financial and long term health hassles.
Makes you wonder about the whichness of the why huh?

I hope your head injury resvolves itself very soon and that you get some new wheels before long.
My little car is almost 20 years old, but without her I really don't know what I would do. Public transport in provincial NZ is pretty much non existent for local travel.
I have a daughter in Alberta, and from what she tells me, waiting for a bus in winter time would be inviting frostbite!.....not good.

Hang in there sister, it will get better.

Well hi.

Kest glad you guys are all ok.  The old up with car can out htings out of wack for some time - went through this 12 months ago myself and it sucks being with out a car.  So healing to you and yours that all will work out well.

I got the good news from my doc yesterday that I am off work for another month at the least with my knee and if it is ligaments I may be looking at a great deal more time.  To top things off I have to wait two weeks before I can get in for another altra sound to see.  I have been down in the dumps from this great news as we really can't afford for me to not be working.  After rolling in self pitty fot eh day yesterday I have woken up with a more positive frame of mind and have a better out look on things.  So much healing work is in order and a great many positive affirmations.

One good thing though,  I have started the aromatherapy course to go with the just completed massage and have already done the first four assignments, so rang and had another four posted to me.  By all accounts I should be finished this one very quickly.  And besides me time is not a bad thing, so leg up reading etc is what I am doing.

But must say having a split level house with the loo upstairs is a real pain in the butt..

Well to join in the pain in the body parts chatter here, lol.

Went back to the foot doctor today. Got a loverly cortisone shot in the foot!  Shocked. am still numb from the topical for another couple hours, so he is my bestest fiend right now, but he says after the spray stuffies wears off he'll be my worst enemy and I'll be calling him all sorts of colorful names for a bit. Maybe a day or two! Will have to  wait 2 weeks to see if it works. If it don't then we are looking at 'the knife'! Crying or Very sad

Still no barefooties, much anyways, wear good support shoes, at least i can now wear my sandals if I like around the house!  Very Happy And I can take a whole body bath!!!! yeah tubbie soak!!!

First however have to watch the season premier of CSI!!!!!! Gil's leaving!!!! Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad

Cutting time on most everyone at work right now. So far I've been spared.

At least gas prices are down, $2.86 a gallon! yeah! So that means a good trip in a couple weeks up to Omaha. am soooooo looking forward to getting away for a couple days!!  Mad  KIDS!!! PEOPLE!!!!  Mad

Kath I'm so sorry to hear about the knee. I know all too well how that goes!!! had 2 knee surgeries. and am looking to having a total replacement in a few years. sounds like a sand box in there. They went in and cut the ligament/tendons, whichever on one side to turn my kneecap lose. Hurt like a bad tooth in the wrong place most of the time. Sending whatever energies out for you that you might need.

LE you still out there?

Say it isn't SOOOOO.  Mad  Mad  Mad  Gil can't be leaving...he's what makes the show!!!!

Have the boy child checking broadcast schedules, because I'm also a fan of Grays Anatomy, and I don't have the ability to record.  This could mean watching one and then going online to watch the other.

Hi Novia,
$2.86 a gallon??? Lucky you....here in NZ it is over $5.00US as gallon ($1.90NZ a litre).
You don't know how lucky you are!...
In Europe, it is quite a lot dearer than it is here in NZ.
$2.86 a gallon ($1.00NZ a litre) is a distant memory...we will never see that again.
You can expect gas prices to double in the next 5 years.....so brace yourself!
Perhaps when more of us walk or cycle, the roads will be less deadly places for adults and children alike.

Hope your foot comes right....sounds nasty.

well, we've had a knee and a foot, might as well chime in and grumble about the only other joint of the leg, my hip is killing me again!  I forgot how badly it acts up some times, haven't had a flare like this one in a while, it's a real doozie.  normally either it feels like it's the joint itself not tracking right inside the socket or something, and it hurts towards the back, or it's the muscles and ligaments around the joint hurting, and it hurts in the front, about where the pocket to me jeans sits... well right now it's both... and it's nasty... fell flat on my face at work because I was walking along and all of a sudden the hip locked and wouldn't swing my leg forward.  it hurts to walk, hurts more to sit still, and I can't find a comfy way to lie... my massage therapist thinks it has to do with my alignment, and thinks I should go see a chiropractor... I'm a little scared, I've never been to one... and the idea of someone manipulating my spine freaks me out a little, I've heard it can hurt a lot.  Really though, I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and do that soon, because this is unbearable! Might I remind you all I'm 19 yrs old!! way too young for this stuff! grumble grumble... Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

Aside from that I'm trying very hard to stay motivated on my correspondence course... but really physiology isn't the most rivveting subject in the world.  it's hard work, I think I might have to actually make myself a schedule.

anyways, that's all I can think of for now, my noodle is fried, it's late... Kestrel, glad to have you here again, hope you start feeling more normal in the near future... do the docs think it's gonna improve?

nighty night everyone, off to try to catch a star.
Kat

Kestral, Kath and Novia - keeping a good thought for all of you.  Hope you are all feeling better soon!

Son made it to France without incident, got an email from him this morning.  Well, at least I did my motherly part by worrying... Confused

And......I'm so freaking excited!!!!! Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy   I had written this lame email of introduction about myself to our local ghost hunting group fully expecting to be ignored (it sounded so stupid once I had hit send!).  They emailed me back today!!!  They might have an opening in the next few months.  Yah!  I love the feeling you get when a door opens that you didn't think would - know what I mean?   Yipee!!  I love adventures!!
