Ooh!  Mr. K and I are gonna go to the haunted house tonight.  Gonna get ourselves scared out of our pampers.   Shocked This one that we go to is great.  There are three different "houses" with different themes on the same land, so you can pay for one or all three.  Last year we just did one.  We had too much fun last year, so, I think this year we'll do all three.  Hee.  Mr. K wants to grab one of his delicate, innocent Egyptian friends to take with us  Twisted Evil (He has such an evil streak, that sometimes I think he's playing for the dark side.)

Yup sucks Gil leaving, but he wants to go do theatre again, which is what he did when he went on his 'sabbatical'!! Knock Knock Knock!!!Anybody ouot there?

LOL Seems we have all taken to our little corners of the castle again.

Cold wet, and still rainin' here in the midwest. gonna go down to the low 40's in the next night or so, too early for cold! So not ready for old man winter to take the reigns.

Missed out on the full moon, by sight anyways, too many clouds, but she sure was kickin none the less!!!  Shocked

Getting ready for going out of town this weekend, and am so looking forward to it. not sure what's up but my kids are sooooooo driving me crazy lately!!! They had me so flustered the other day, just by being there, that I left home! Ran away to the bookstore. Found me a book "Paganism an Introduction to Earth Centered Religions"  by Joyce and River Higginbothom. Goes into detail for the one on a path, and those who want to understand a path someone else walks. Has journaling execrises, and all sorts of things to help a person figure things out.

Not sure why it jumped out at me, but I do know it's time for me to figure out some things in my life, and guess that's an area I need to figure out. I do know I do, cause, well, I just do, lol.

You know I always looked at in like this. You sit there with this little square piece of paper, ya fold it up, ya make this awesome little bird. Ya take another piece, look at it, and wonder what else can ya make with it, so ya fold and ya fold, and lo and behold ya make a purty little flower. Ya grab another piece, and ya sit there, pondering what else lies hidden within that flat lifeless little piece of paper. then someone walks up, looks at your creations and goes, "Oh I didn't know you knew Origami." You look at them in amazment and Go "neither did I." So, it's not something you created, someone else has done this wonderful art! So you head out to the bookstore, and lo and behold, a plethera of books, with all sorts of details on the history, and the how to's on this litle square piece of paper that has the potential for becoming the most elegant things!  All of a sudden, you feel alive, so much lies ahead. In an instant, with the aide of one person, a whole new adventure lies ahead of you!!! You are no longer confused, and alone, you are part of a greater group, who you now share knowledge with.

Cold and wet here in NY as well.  The foilage is just past peak, still beautiful but with a twinge of sadness knowing that months of barren cold are coming.  I don't feel ready to hibernate in the nest yet, summer was cool and wet and I never got to the feeling of "Oh, I can't wait for autumn!" this year.  I still want to be outside, but it's not the best weather for it, everything is damp and chill.

The excitement has waned from the response from the ghost hunting group, now the hard part, waiting for an opening so I can join in.

Got my first Yule present ticked off my list this week. (A real rarity - I usually wait till the last minute, then stress about getting it all done in time!)  Found a local artist who did a pencil sketch of DH's dog, portrait style with a matt and all.  Looks really good.  She wanted to display a copy at the farmer's market, but I told her not this year as DH walks the dog around the market and might actually come across the picture and put 2 and 2 together!

I also found a cool book at the library.  "Spinning Straw into Gold, What Fairy Tales Reveal About the Transformations in a Woman's Life" by Joan Gould.  Amazingly relevant and insightful.  Talks about the old tales, not just the Disney versions which are sugared-up and watered-down.   Talks about Maiden, Mother and Crone.  Talks about the dynamics of mothers and daughters.  Might be a good Book Club candidate.

Well, I think I'll go try to light the pilot light on the gas fireplace (we don't have a real fireplace  Sad )  It's a good day for alittle fire.  If I'm not back I've probably blown myself up, then I can join the ghost hunters from the other side!

Acasia, that sounds like a great book, and I think I will look it up at our library, too.  I can use some female inspiration about now.

Novia--you're right!  That moon was kickin' and its still kickin'--MY BUTT!  I have had the hardest time dealing with all the energy in the last couple days and I have been completely overwhelmed.  This is a strange thing for me because my life is not all that overwhelming, but the emotions have been going cuckoo!! Has anyone else had this issue this moon, or is it just weird little ole me?

Awww... sounds like gloomy weather there....It's spring here in NZ, so here's a picture of the flowering cherry tree in my yard, in full blossom, to remind you that spring is not far away.

Novia, a friend loaned me that book and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.  Keep going back to it time and again.  Have another they wrote, but can't stay out of the first one enough to finish it.

Yes, the energy has been overwhelming at times this moon for me as well.  I was unable to get a good view last night, but when I woke up at 5 this morning she was there to greet me.   Very Happy

ah, so that's why all the wonky energy... I'm ashamed to say I forgot it was that time of month already.  Also means I gotta be prepared for little miss red to come a knockin in a couple of days.

I'm emotionally overwhelmed at the moment... All week long I've been stressed about MONEY MONEY MONEY! to the point where I haven't been sleeping well.  I found out 3 important things earlier on this week.  1- the school I want to start at in January doesn't qualify for osap, 2- I have to start paying back the osap from last year next month, and 3- the 2500 that my grandfather lent me for school? well my parents spent it. Time to stop farting around and start looking after things.  I'm actively looking for a different job that might pay more.  I'm going into the bank to talk about getting a student line of credit, etc.  I just found out that my parents took out a line of credit, (basically a loan) for mine and my brother's college.  they told me this tonight.  And while I want to breathe a big sigh of relief, they've not looked after me financially since I was 12, and now that I'm an adult, all I want is independance, not more financial ties to them.  I'd rather directly have a loan with an institution that I have to pay back, than be guilted by my parents, have the pressure of having to repay the loan before my brothers need it, the headache of my mother knowing where I spend every penny, and having to beg for money.  I really really really more than anything in the world want my parents to step up to the plate and take care of their children, and more than anything I really hope that opportunity's still there for my little brothers when they get to college, because I don't think they'll have the drive to make it work on their own.  I want mommy and dad to just pay for part of my education, no strings attached, no IOU's... just because I'm their daughter.  but it's not gonna happen that way, so I'm trying to come to terms with going ahead and getting a student loan anyways, (assuming I can get it without them co-signing) and trying to brace myself for the emotional warfare when they find out I'm not going to accept their particular brand of charity.

wow... didn't mean that to turn into such a novel. it's just got me stressed right now.  I still need to book a chiropractor's appointment for my hip... grr...

by the way, that book sounds really interesting! I think I'm gonna have to see if i can get my mitts on it! ... er... I mean borrow it from the library of course... can't actually afford to buy it at the moment... *sigh*

anyways, going off to mull all this over...
Kathartica.

I'm not crazy, it's just that I enjoy talking to the trees and singing to the moon...

Twinkle and sparkle and burst into Flame!!!!!  This glorious hunter Moon has given me the energy I needed to put a grinding halt on old patterns of behavior and burst into a new self-sufficient, take-care-of-myself attitude.  DH has been up to his old tricks and that horrible feeling of powerlessness was creeping back in.  Well, screw that!  Kicked him out of the bedroom last night.  That got his attention.  I know only a couple of days ago I was going on about his Yule gift, which I'm still excited about, but that was also my old way of coping with his games.  By being extra thoughtful and caring and nice I could make him nicer to me.  WRONG.  I think some of my "crone-ness" is blossoming and it feels great!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!  Kathartica I'll keep a good thought for you, money stress sucks!  Novia, ENJOY!!!

Had a loverly day with the munchkins.  I let them have a free period at the end of Friday if they behave throughout the week, and so we went to the teeny weeny little playground our school has provided for them.  While the boys played 7 year old football all over the bumpy, uneven soccer field, we girls all picked the prettiest little lavender colored flowers (which when I got them home, turned out to be fleabane--score another new witchy herb for me!) and acted all feminine.  (hee, hee).  Then we all played choo-choo by walking around the border thingy that keeps the wood chips contained.  The kids were impressed..."Miss Denise, I didn't know you could balance on one foot!"  They had such a good time, and I felt really good.  That moon energy was great for getting in touch with the kids at their level and I truly enjoyed myself in that last hour!
I have also been able to "reach" one of my more troubled girls.  She is having some major issues with a mom that is a druggie and is no longer living with her.  Poor kid just mopes around the class  Sad and has a tough time focusing on anything, even though she's the brightest of all of them.  She was gone one day last week and I had written in her writing journal a little "prayer" for her.  She noticed it today, and I have seen a sparkle in her since then!  Baby just needs a little luv and attention!  Very Happy

I hope everyone is having as nice a day as I am! (fairy)
