what, no mayo?

all-day crock pot venison stew with potatoes, celery and carrots, covered with bisquick and tossed in the oven

I am cooking a flat-iron steak.  It is in the oven right now, nestled in a bed of onions and potatoes and covered with red pepper and garlic.  I've been eating so much chicken lately that I'm beginning to have kinky dreams about Big Bird.  It's time for a big hunk of meat hacked from a big, fat smelly animal with a fatal brain disease.

Mr. K had some odd ground beef concoction sitting in the fridge for a couple days, so it was time to do something with it.  I cracked three eggs into it, threw in a sliced 'mater and stirred it on medium heat till the egg was firmed up.  Then I slathered a bunch of mayo on a pita and stuffed the meat goop into it.  It was good, I must admit.

 Tonight we had good ole BLTA's and soup. It is cold tonight and that was a perfect meal.

Have one of my man unofficial sons coming over for dinner and spending the night, so a big batch of chili is on the stove and a huge loaf of french bread ready to go into the oven to have with it.

It's nice when the quazi-adopted children who have gone off to college, still want to return "home" and spend time with my borne children and break bread and spend time here in the warmth of te place.

My daughters new BF's Mom stopped in today after taking Megan out to lunch with them. �Her first words were that our home feels so "warm". �I said I'd had the stove on most of the day simmering a batch of chili, and she stated that it smelled wonderful in here too, but thats not what she was talking about.

Felt nice, and she sat down on the couch as though she'd been here before. �Not in an arogant way mind you, but in that homey "know you are welcome" kind of way.

That always makes me feel good when people are able to just make themselves at home. �Me thinks she has some extra keen sense she is not really fully attuned to.

I had to work 12 hours tongiht so I had cheetos and a bunch of junk food:( I am not the biggest junkfood person at all...

Wow...a 10 day span.

Anyway, I rubbed a beef tenderloin filet with roasted garlic, sea salt, and cracked black pepper and olive oil and let sit at room temp an hour.  Dumped off the snow from the gas grill, and flame grilled that sucker crispy on both sides, and a warm rare on the inside.  

Ohhh it was yummy.

We had broiled dilled salmon steaks with oyster casserole (sort of a corn casserole with oysters in it) and rice.  It were nummy.

had to work this morning and have to go to my other job in a few minutes so I just grabbed the number 8 at work on my way home. �But last night we had real food. �Ben made black beans and rice with sausage.
