I had 5 of my son's friends over for a pizza and movie party night.  I doctored up cheap frozen pizzas with everything imaginable.  It was a fun night.

The traditional turkey sandwich.  The past couple of years it has been fried turkey.  I like mine with spicy mustard, lemon pepper, swiss cheese on wheat bread.   mmmmmm  And a Michelob Ultra.   Very Happy

Tonight was left over pizza from last night.

Thinking I'll be making some spanish or mexican style beef and rice for tomorrow, but I haven't set it stone.  Depends what the entire rest of the day brings I suppose.

The local meat counter at the super market had awsome tenderloin filets at 4.99/lb.    Broccoli crowns at .88/lb.  Bought a few hoggie buns to make into grilled garlic bread.

Oh, and the store has started to offer peeled garlic cloves in a plastic container for 1.79 a lb.  Great convienence.  And I LOVE Garlic.  Boy child loves fried asian sesame garlic noodles.  Could live on them if I let him.

Meat is resting right now with a rubbing of sea salt, EVOO, cracked pepper and fresh grated garlic in wait for the grill.

Bottle of Pinot Noir ready to pop a cork on for dinner and then a movie with the kids.  Watch the ball drop, and then one last end of the year ritual and I'll be off to bed.

Happy New Year to all in the Castle.

Sounds so good, EM.  Me, I'm on my way to a friend's house for burgers on the grill.  I have my black eyed peas soaking, will put them in my crockpot at midnight (or that is my plan   ) with some seasonings, smoked ham hocks and onions. Tomorrow will have them with cabbage, butterfly pork chops, baked sweet potatoes and cornbread.  I can't resist....I love the traditional New Year's Day meal in the South.   Smile  Although, I will  probably have it thru Saturday.  Then I plan on a homemade chili.  It's supposed to be cold (in the 30's by then).   Very Happy   Yeah, I know Novia.  I suck.  LOL

Tonight I have opted to order a kofta sandwich from the local mid-east market (via mr. K) and the rest of dinner will be served in a glass.  Wink  I'm probably not going anywhere, as it is a dangerous night to be on the roads, and I plan on being in no condition to drive.

Happy New Year, Friends!

This evening I made what I call Los Alamos Chicken (named after the site of the first atomic explosion).  I cooked a couple of cut-up chicken breasts with a package of seasoned rice.  To this I added cheese, tomatoes, and plenty of garlic and red pepper.  Then I added a big handful of sliced jalapeno peppers.  Then I dumped in some Tabasco sauce.  Mmmmm.  It does live up to its name.
