Glad to see this place waking up again.  I've missed everybody as we've all been so busy with the holidays and family and all that goes along with this time of year.

Acasia, I'm much better right now, but it's so nice to have this little cafe to meet up with friends who share or have shared similar feelings.  Good luck with that visualization project and keep us up to date.  Very Happy

Good to hear from you, Novia.  Was beginning to wonder bout you.  Been much too quiet.   Confused
I like the idea of the journal.  Something I've been needing to do, but haven't, although I do put a lot in writing.

Oh, well.  Good to know everybody is still lurking around out there.  Maybe more will wander in before too much longer.

Blessings,
Amethystone

just a quick stop to say good morning to all my fellow cuppa crew, and I don't even have a cuppa this morning Crying or Very sad .

Woke up and decided first thing to sort out 2 years of bank statments, from 2 banks, lol. got a 2 thing going on it seems.

I'm actually keeping myself on track. Got my Quicken program set up yesterday. So the checkbook is in order, it sucks, but its in order, lol. All my bankstatements I simply have shoved onto the shelf above the computer and ignored. Well it's not only disorganized, but is also a visual mess.

You know a number something or other cause/contributor of depression is clutter. Even if you ignore it, you brain has to process it, because your eyes see it. In thru the yes, straight shot into the brain. Stop and think about that one for a moment!  Shocked

Which is more soothing to you. You walk into a room, any room, it is a room, but it has alot of 'stuff' nicknack chotchki stuff. Magazines and books on the tables, things like that. Papers lying about. Dishes here and there. Now walk into another room, it is sparse in the stuff department. Simple decorations, simple furniture. No clutter. You can even do the same thing in the same room. Look at an area that is clear, and then look at another that is piled up with stuff, even a bookshelf will case the same brain reaction.

To clear the mind you also have to clear the minds visual space.

And on that note, lol, it's time to get ready for work!

have a blessed day one and All!!!

I'm with you on the clutter thing, Novia.  Although, for me, it has to be somewhere in the middle of tchotchkiville and nothingness.  For me, if the room is very sparse, it needs to have some form of color somewhere or I will get that empty feeling.  However, I don't have to worry about emptiness here.    Laughing

Good Morning Cuppa Clan!

Well this is going to be a good day! (Even if it kills someone! Twisted Evil  Laughing )

Well I'm staying on course! yeah me. so far I have managed to accomplish one task per day. Baby steps, still gets ya there, just less stressful

That massa mess above my computer. Goneba!!!! Very Happy  You know I had 5 years of bank statments, in binders, plus 2 years just plopped in, still in enevelopes, plus 2 years of health savings account envelopes smushed in an 18" space!? That's 7 years worth of crap! Plus 2 plastic magazine holders, full of all that and an inch of dust.

Will actually have hubby take down shelf for me, so I cannot pile on it again. It's kinda ugmugly anyways. A white wire thingy. One of those 'practical' things, lol. I also need to clean off my smoke detctor since it looks like a fly outhouse!  Shocked I have plenty of 'other places' that these things can go, it was a 'convienence thing' more than anything. A good idea in it's time, but well past it's prime! (hey I'm a poet and didn't knowit!  Shocked Bad one, I know!)

Sorry about oversharing, but as long as I share, I know I'll stay on task!

Hey, psssst, wanna free book? No sharing! No posting here, sorry! But ya can put it on your puter! Go to www.oprah.com and you can download Suze Ormans 2009 Action plan for your finances FREE!!!! You can only do this until the 15th!!! It is the actual book 227 pages, that she has out for sale, but it is free to oprah watchers, shhhh don't tell, lol. She wants everyone to get out of debt in 2009, which by the way she is talking is going to be a make or break year for alot of people. Last night in an audience of 225 people, the was like 2.3 million dollars in debt in the room!!!  Shocked

I've only got 2300 debt and it seems like a mountain! I couldn't imagine, like one lady with 23 credit cards, over $79,000!!!!! Shocked That doesn't even take into account her house/cars. No wonder the US is in such a shithole of a mess!!! Can we go back in time, and shoot whomever came up with credit, before he comes up with it?

Oh well, on that happy note,  Embarassed  have a hap hap happy day!!!!!

Novia,
You are making me tired.    Sad

Really, you are inspiring me.  I desperately need to do all these things you are talking about.  Years and years of bank statements, hsa and insurance envelopes, yeah, i need to get rid of so much.  Maybe, in the next few weeks I'll be able to make myself dive into some of it and get it done.  Maybe.  I did say maybe.

I kinda got disappointed in the results from my working out.  Joined a fitness center last March and started working with weights to tone in July.  Never changed my routine, but increased the weights.  Lost weight, firmed up some, but then it all came to a stand still during the holidays.  Yeah, I'm sure all the food I was eating didn't have anything to do with it.    Embarassed    Anyway, I am trying to mix it up now.   Decreased the weight but increased the reps.  Trying different machines and joined some of the new classes they are offering.  Went to a 45 minute spinning/abs class this morning.    Crying or Very sad    I'm sure it will get better.

Anyway, just thought I'd drop by the cafe and see how everybody is doing.

Blessings,
Amethystone

Hello  to you all.

I have been trying once again to catch up with you all.  I was way back in the posts and saw your wee one Novia,  she is just so squeezable.

It seems old mother earth has had a gut full of us all.  We are in the midst of rain and flooding etc etc.  We were in the midst of a drought a couple of weeks ago and looking very worryingly at our water supply or should I say the lack of it.  But now we have so much.  Its funny you don't have and pray for it, you get it and after a while you pray for it to go away.

We  I also see the economic state is far spread and hitting everyone hard these days.

It probably was the wrong time to do this but I gave notice at work just before xmas and finished last week.  I can no longer put up with the goings on there, it had gotten me to a depressed state.  I loved the job, but couldn't stand the rubbish that came from the others and the power plays and what was happening.  After many attempts to talk and have things improve it all failed.  My husband has only part time work at the moment as his bosses company went under before xmas.

But I am very positive about all.  I have finished my reiki room and am on the setting up of insurances etc and am going to advertise and work from home.  I am very excited about it all.  I have decided to take a couple of weeks while I get the kids ready and back to school and then I will start this up.  If it doesn't take off I will always find something else.  But a couple of weeks will be good to get myself back into a better state of mind and do some de - cluttering at home as well.

We also have a new puppy on the way for the family.  We had to have our big guy put down before xmas due to his health and we have sadly missed him.  So it will be lovely to have another baby in the house, mind you I think he will be like Buddha and be more of an outside dog as he will be very large.  But he will be able to come in the back door and sit in the cool.

So I am glad to see you all.

Good morning all
just popped in for a shared cuppa with friends.  Living a dry state of Australia we could do with some heavy rain for our rivers are very sad.  Today our temperature is heading for about 42 c which is 107.6 f so we are having a very hot day.
So today I will be chilling anywhere cool and sorting out both health and personal problems. A great day to meditate for answers.
take care all
Blessed be

Morning all!  Congrats Brimaso on the new job!  I've been working overtime this past week and I'll definitely be decompressing this weekend.  Gonna crawl back into the Twilight books and lose the real world for awhile.  Already I'm thinking about the weekend and it's only Tuesday!!

Sounds like some refreshing new starts Brimaso - having worked promos in front of WalMarts day in and day out, all I can do is recommend BEING the positive energy you're looking for while in such an environment of frumpy chaos. There is a perspective to have and hold that's bigger than the individuals searching for tang and a t-shirt, and their rat race to beat the clock...

I've got a few books on my to-read list, you've inspired me to get to readin, Acasia.

Cheers all!

Congrats on the job brimaso. Being stuck in walmart any time of day is not a happy thing! Lots and lots of postivity for you no doubt!

I haven't worked overtime, but it has seemed that this week has already been a week long, and it's now just only Wednesday!  Shocked  I swear yesterday we had another full moon creep in!

The pst couple nights has been lacking in the sleep department. Was up yesterday morning at 3A.M. Not sure why, after having gone to bed at 10:30, so 4.5 hours the night before. Headed to bed at 9:30 last night, and was back up at 10:30, up until 1A.M. and back up at 5:30 this morning. So 5.5 split hours last night!  Crying or Very sad Somehow I thinks 10 hours of sleep out of 48 is not a good thing for one.

Sadly I have lost one place of being familyless!!! Work. Now call me selfish, but I enjoyed having a little time away. Youngest went to work where I do, and yeah we worked a few day shifts together, but not everyday. Now she has been given monday thru friday 7A to 2P.

So onow hubby works with Son, and I work with daughter, no wonder by the time the weekend comes we want to hide in our room with the door shut! And the oldest calls at least 10 times a night! siiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhh.

Needless to say I've kinda fallen off the cleaning wagon a bit. Give me a day or two, and about that much catch up sleep and I'll jump back on again! promise!

Well guess I need to get mine arse moving! Glad slow and steady can still win the race! Anybody got a turtle, he can move a tad faster than me at the moment!  Laughing

Good for you, Brimaso.   Hope everything goes well with the new job.

Novia, I'm right there with you on the sleep deprivation the last couple of nights.  I was wondering if Mother Moon had anything to with.  Sure hope tonight yields better results.  I even drank some warm milk last night, yuck!  I was desperate.  Think I'll try reading tonight.
Now, get back to cleaning out that clutter!    Wink

Blessings, everyone.

Not cleaning anything tonight. Not drnking anything except maybe some calm or sleepytime tea.

Fortunately it's not Thursday cause Gil leaves CSI  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad

As long as I hit the bed, and turn things off, when I get sleepytired, I should be ok, as long as I don't wake up itching again which is what had me up to begin with last night. I'll slather on the Aveeno before bedtime!

I went through a period of not sleeping, and I still find I wake up (open my eyes) around 3:30 every morning, but it seems to have "gone away" for the most part.  I'm not sure what I did.  I haven't really changed much in my diet, but I am under a lot of daytime stress.  Maybe that's why I can sleep better at night now.  For a while there I was sort of worried, and I tried everything.  Hot baths.  Teas.  Foot massages.  Nothing worked.  I would wake up and stay awake a couple of times a night.  (Maybe it was hormonal.  Confused )

Stay in there, Novia.  You must be very patient to be able to work with your family.  I'd probably murder my husband if we had to work together!  (He's so bossy and controlling, due to his "upbringing and culture"...okay, and, well, his nature!)

Congratulations, Bri.  It'll be tough going at first, but you'll get used to it.

I was so sad today as another of my students left.  I hate it when they move or switch schools, or have other issues.  Mom said they had family to take care of, so they had to make a temporary move.  I feel so bad for the little boy (and Mom) as the transition is so hard sometimes.  He was one of my best students.  Its always the good ones that leave.  I guess I need to look at it from the standpoint of need.  My teaching was over for this boy, and it was time for him to move forward and learn something else from someone else.  Its still sad.   Crying or Very sad

Apart from that, I have had a wonderfully magickal week and have utilized the BOS to the fullest.  I love it when I feel like I'm accomplishing something in my spiritual and magickal life.  (Sorry, I'm one who puts a "k" on the magic--mainly because I'm an old fuddy-duddy and it makes me feel younger... Laughing )  Been working with oils and herbs this week and have completely lost myself in them.  I love it!
