The 11:11 Phenomenon

What is the 11:11 Phenomenon? Well, let's see if some of the following things ring a bell with you:

(1)   Whenever you glance at your watch, a clock or the little square on your TV screen containing the time remaining during many sporting events, do you frequently notice the times 11:11, 12:12 or times of double digit minutes like 2:00, 1:44, 3:11, 4:33, 5:22, 6:55 etc.?

(2)   Whenever you glance at a license plate, the address on a building, an apartment number or anything else that has numbers for that matter, do you frequently notice they end in double digits or add up to 11?

(3)   Whenever you must wait in some line and have to take a number, is it frequently a double digit number?

(4)   Whenever you go shopping, is the receipt total or the amount of change that you receive frequently of the double digit variety?

(5)   Whenever you fill your car with gasoline, is the number of gallons or the amount of your purchase frequently of the double digit variety?

(6)   Do you frequently find 11 cents?

(7)   Do you have a ringing in your ears right now?

If your answer to one or all of the above is yes, you are experiencing the 11:11 phenomenon. I have been experiencing all of the above and more since 1985 on a 24/7 basis. Of all the strange things I have encountered in my lifetime, this one is the weirdest of them all.

How has this affected you???

I first "heard" about 11:11 when I was in high school back around '85/'86, when I was travelling with a friend to Utah.  There was a family we visited that would always say, "11:11 I love you" if they saw the clock at that time.  So, we adopted that as friends.  Since that time, I have noticed it quite a lot, not just with time, but with many other things, page numbers, things people say, billboards, license plates, etc.  I haven't read up much on it, but I have heard some one say that the number 1 is the number of "world consciousness" and when it is together as a double digit, it is amplified.

I must say the noise is the most annoying, and hardest to ignore!  

I've never really noticed anything, but when I was a freshman in WI, there was this little thing a couple of students would do. They'd knock on the table twice when those numbers rolled around, 10:10, 11:11 and 12:12.. I don't know what they did for the single numbers.. They were kind of preppy so I Thought it was just something they saw on tv.. They did that with "That 70's Show"..
