My name is Cait. I live in central Texas. I have found that there is a fairly active pagan community here. I am always looking to add new friends to my circle. I usually practice alone or with my family. I have been trying to teach my children about being a pagan and following the Rede, at least to a degree, never breaking the oldest law of Harm None.
It is not always easy, there are still people that believe that they must try to "save" me and my family preaching what they believe to us. However, there are many more that are coming out of the broom closet here. I am glad to have found these forums, I feel welcome here. Thank you all for that feeling.

Hello, and welcome, Cait.  I know that TX is becoming a little more "integrated" with various faiths and beliefs, so people really are changing.  I see that here in Houston.  I used to think TX was very "Southern" and still somewhat prejudiced against differences, but since I've been here, I've seen otherwise.  (Especially in the big city.)  Smile

Welcome Cait.  Yes, there are many places that are more tollerent of our Paths than others.  Some places...not so much.

I'm fortunate to live in a place where diversity is the norm.  A College town, so there are many different cultures that murge here, all in a community that is very heavy in Catholic History.

It seems a culture clash, but the reality is that the cultures hve a life of it's own here.  Small town homeiness blended with world wide influence.

Glad you found us...and hope to know you better.

I found a shop here that is wonderful, it was originally run by two women. Now it is being run by a married couple who are looking to start some classes (for lack of better term) and small circles. I was thinking about looking into the classes.

I have started working in one of the shops on the local army base. I didn't realize there were so many pagan soldiers. Since I have been in the shop I have encountered only a few people that have issues with pagans, and it seems that most of that is superstition and misinformation. I am glad that our path is becoming more accepted and I guess that there will always be those who are unable to get over their issues.

Thank you for the welcome. I hope to get to know at least a few of you better, although the more the merrier.  Very Happy

Welcome, Cait!

There are a lot of really nice people here.  I am Christian so I understand what you mean about those who try to "save" you.  They are the reason people like me are usually "looked down upon" in such a community as this one.  But, I have been welcomed and feel comfortable visiting with the castle dwellers here.  I have made friends with many.
Why am I here, you ask???  To help understand one that I love and because I grew up with certain magick in my family and neighborhood.
I love and accept people....period.  If we were all alike, what a boring place this would be.
