It's a woodpecker! You can see him easy in the picture, but I couldn't find him, only hear him.. Or her.. So, I just took the picture, hoping to get a shot of it. He disappeared into the tree, so I'm really surprised at where he is.

I always love it when my feathered friedns do the same thing. Here we are standing outside looking up, turning in circles, and the whole while ya just know they are up there laughing their asses off at how silly they can make us humans look just trying to see them!

God, I love birds.  Every morning when I go out to work it is still dark (since the time change).  There is always a bird (one of those big ole Texas Starlings) sitting in a nearby tree singing his heart out as loud as he can.  It is the most beautiful sound!  

The migratory birds are just starting to show up and last evening I sat on the front step just looking at the windswept cirrus clouds and listening to the lovely birdsong.  It was divine.

It just so happened, this morning, I seen a couple different birds sitting under the bird feeder that was not used all winter.  (Under the bird feeder??  With our snow banks, they were almost beside the feeder).  I got the feeder, cleaned it, re-filled it, and spent most of the morning watching these beautiful creatures filling themselves.  What a beautiful morning.

If anyone else has pictures of birds or whatnot, feel free to post also. Walking around the trail, in some areas, I was almost literally surrounded by all these birds. This one was taken yesterday, I was out for about four hours.. There was a huge flock of Geese and Swans (or some really long necked bird) sitting out on the water I got pictures of.. A couple of Bald Eagles showed themselves, though they were cruising really high up, I have to use the zoom on my computer to even see anything but a black smudge.

Taking these trail walks on the weekends is really helping me cope with the whole, 'it's warm, but not warm enough to do anything "spring-related..

Meh.. I can't be the only one going nuts over the warm fresh air.
