Must have been transplanted here years ago, there are 2 or 3 on the hill, not a naturally occuring plant. But that makes sense, there are also several patches of cactus that are not natural here also. The cacuts has a beautiful yellow flower, sigh, dummy here leaned the hard way you don't pick them flowers. Took forever to get all the tiny needles out
Thanks SM

The older I get, the less I know, the happier I am
I love the Yucca. My daughter had them in San Diego, CA and brought one back with her to Natchez and now to Houston. Really beautiful and I would say you are blessed to have it there on your little hill, Sundown. Don't touch the spines and they won't hurt you. I hope you get to enjoy the plums.
LOL Yes they do. Transplant a few to underneath ground floor windows to help keep out intruders. Very few will want to tangle with a large spiky yucca.
I'll bet that field is is spectacular on a night when the moon is full. I just visualize myself in that field on the night of a full moon, with a little fire going (or not) and just taking in the beauty of the night sky- (quite possibly with a beer or glass of wine in my hand)
Looks like Gaia went to Hawaii . Just went there myself a few months ago. It has changed so much since I was there 18 yrs ago on my honeymoon. I recognized the lighthouse immediately- I took an almost identical picture of that same one. Recognized some of the plants as well (although I don't remember their names). Oops! Just read where you are located Gaia- duh! Guess that means you're still there
SM, there really are so many beautiful spots for photos in Hawaii. I believe the photo of the lighthouse was taken from the top of Diamond Head crater (not a bad climb as long as you're in moderately good shape) My wife and older daughter didn't do as well as my younger daughter & I did . If time and finances permit, I'd highly recommend visiting the Hawaiian Islands. If you're one of those folks that likes to take pictures, i'd also recommend investing in a large capacity memory card if your camera is digital (also get an under water disposable if you snorkel). Oahu is pretty built up but worth staying at- lots of sights to see. If you'd rather be more layed back, I'd recommend Maui or Kauai. Ultimately, every island I've visited there is beautiful and each has its own unique attraction. Also, invest in a GPS- it saved alot of time and gas in getting to all the different places we visited. I hope you can make the trip there someday- the sunsets are especially intoxicating to view
