I was looking around in here...and noticed that name....I was aproached one day at the mall about some cleansing scrub this woman was selling that was from the Dead Sea...now...after she tried it on my arm it felt wonderful and all the dead skin was removed and that felt better on the inside of my arm.....anyhow...are these good? I was ready to buy but this little teeny bottle was suppose to last I think for a year.....and that part suprised me....and the price was up there...anyhow....I didn't buy it....would love to find out more about things for "beauty or healing" I guess from the Dead Sea.....I must sound aweful funny but don't know how else to put it....
Thanks

Dead Sea Salts are a wonderful cleansing modality!  Sometimes you can find them in health food stores...for not a bad price.  You can make your own "scrub" very easily...  buy the salts, use 1/2 cup- 1 cup, add oil (not too much,  just to make it grindy, like wet sand) you can also add whatever essential oil you would like to give it fragrance and added properties.  Scrub all over your body, jump in shower....ahhh, smooth, smooth skin.  Smile  And that is how you make a salt glow(scrub) that you get in spas

Blessings

If you keep your eye open in Ross, every once in a while they carry dead sea products as well.

The product I use the most is their Milk and Honey scrub that lasts at least half a year depending on how often you use it. The price though (for most of their products at the booths) are 49 dollars a piece.  Quite a hefty price.  I've also bought their "skincare" line (152 dollars and some change.  which I contribute to retail therapy)  It's suppose to be good for x-e-mas (can't spell the word right now) acne, that type of thing.

The only thing I would worn against is the 'daily" cleansing scrub it's made my skin burn some and seemed to make my face break out a bit more than it all ready was.  This could have easily just been my skin's reaction to it, but if you are interested in trying some of their products, I strongly suggest getting one maybe two products at a time, just because of the price. No matter how much they try to talk you into getting more.

I'm sure you could easily make the very same thing at home. I know the ingredients on my scrubs have "dead sea" salt, Sea salt, Almond,Wheat Germ,SandalWood,Myrrh,Lemongrass,Orange, and Flower oils.   As you can guess no amounts, but I don't see why you couldn't play with the amounts of oils until you got the smell you desired.

I hope this helps some even though I rambled on a bit.  It's not a bad thing to buy every now and then as a special treat but most definitely NOT an everyday buy.  If you do decide on some please let me know if you liked it or not.

I have tried the dead sea products as well and really liked the way my skin felt after use. I especially enjoyed the dead sea mud mask. They usually have a stall set up in our military exchange and the local mall (where they can be a little obnoxious in their sales tactics). I have found that their items are also available on Ebay for much more reasonable prices than those found in the stalls.

Blessings,
Gaia

Good thing you don't mind rambling there Emerald, cause well we are known to ramble a bit on things!  Laughing

So, just how much salt can we take out of the dead sea before it is no longer a toxic level and therfore no longer qualifies as being 'dead', but is just a sea?

Then, are we going to have some international 'Re-name to sea contest?

hummmm......... the things that make me go ......hummmmmmmmmmmmm!  Shocked
