Ok guys, I need help with something.
I am a receptionist. I love being back in the nursing home, but I so am tired of answering the phone. When I worked at the Children's Museum I answered the phones, and am again, so I'm into nigh on 8 years of phone answetring.
I kept touting to the Universe that I want a new job, and we all know about the Be careful what you ask for thing. I know I do, but I didn't really give it a second thought, again, second mistake. Ask, turn it over, forget it, get it.
A spell back the business office gal gave notice, 2 weeks, recended on the second and is gone. the other gal told me I should ask for the position and she'd make sure I got it. Now mind you I have no experience in billing, but have wanted to learn and do odd projects to help out, thus learning. Again it has been brought up I should apply for the spot as she knows I could be shown and I'd learn, quickly.
Only problem is, leaving my spot would cause a big hole in that office. I work there mon thru fri and am 'lead' wthout the official title. i get the calls at work with the questions and have to fill in all blanks or leave people floundering, they can't think for themselves.
So, do I jump and see if I can get the spot, or stay safely where I am, giving in to the 'duty' of my full time spot. I'd still be helping out in the other office, on top of my regular receptionitst duties, keeping my foot in the 'learning pool'.
I aksed, the Universe gave.
Is it rude to not accept, and relish in the pleasure of the knowledge it did offer up it's gift?

Just my two cents.
