In 10 months, I will be getting a divorce. The only reason we are waiting this long is so that we can catch up on our mutual bills and I can finish out the school year. The divorce will be welcome when it comes. We have lived together for a couple of years now with seperate belief systems, but since my husband returned home from his visit to his family in Egypt, he has not let up on the fact that I "don't believe like a normal person". (WTF?) He claims that he has been "patient with me" for far too long. He barely speaks to me anymore and finds stupid reasons to go out or go to work early. If he's having an affair at this point, I'm beyond caring anymore. Good for him. I hope she's a good Muslim who will treat him like a God and give him fifty children. He has told me very bluntly that I would not be a fit mother for his children. He implies that I am not deserving of him. So, I have made the decision to leave. We have both agreed upon this decision because we have grown so far apart.
I don't have but one friend here. Everyone else I know belongs to his "religion" and I can't say anything to them (even about the divorce) for fear of losing my job. I don't have time to get to know anyone (which is why I haunt the castle). I'm also an anti-social misfit who fears making new friends. I am happy living alone, that part of it doesn't scare me or worry me. I'm not worried about finding another man, which probably won't ever happen (...to all you Dianics out there, vive la femme!) I'm just pissed as hell at this blatant bigotry from someone who claimed to love me. (Well, he has his f*&^ing citizenship now.)
I don't know why I'm writing this here. I don't usually like to "spill" my b'i'ness to large groups of people. Maybe I'm just looking for someone who has been through this, too. Is this common for us as Pagans? Do we lose everyone? I feel so alone. Can anyone throw me some hope?

"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." Friedrich Nietzsche

You wrote he implies that you don't deserve him, well you don't, you deserve someone MUCH, MUCH BETTER!!!!!!! I could go on and on but I won't. Give yourself permission to feel all the feelings that will come to the surface, anger, outrage, sadness, fear, anxiety, even nostalgia..... THEN LET THEM GO. I was told I was not to get "over" this, I was to go "through" this. Experience the feelings that come, nuture yourself, give yourself the most excellent care you are capable of, and you will find yourself blossoming into a new, wiser, more beautiful creature than you can imagine. If you want to email me directly go right ahead. I'll find my way to my profile so that my address shows. Take care girl, you are not alone!
