Ah another day another dinner, as the dishwasher humms in the background.

steak ( was going to grill, torrential downpour changed my mind , pan grilled with garlic soy and salt and pepper)
mashed potatoes
baked beans
salad
dinner rolls...

Quite an evening, went to rescue the motorcycle in the truck (of course he broke it during a storm Smile
Came home and finished dinner....now it is off to bed. There is just so much excitement this tired old body can take.
Blessings

I have a pork loin roast that I'll be encrusting with spices and putting on the grill if the weather holds out.  Pan grill some baby potatoes in garlic and rosemary olive oil and butter, and a tossed romaine salad with oil and red wine vinegar and some salad seasonings.  We learned that spam, diced fine and fried crispy is a great substitute for bacon bits.  A loaf of crusty bread and butter.

A friend gave me some ghost peppers.  These are the hottest of the hot.  He couldn't eat them, which was good enough recomendation for me.  I sliced the tip off one and popped it into my mouth.  At first I was disappointed; it smelled and tasted just like a green bell pepper.  My disapointment was short-lived.  Within seconds I felt like my head was on fire.  I was salivating like I had rabies.  I couldn't see.  I was sweating profusely.  My face was bright red.  The pain was nothing short of Infernal.  I drank most of a two-liter of Diet Coke in one sitting.  I brushed my tongue with Sensodyne toothpaste.  That did not help.  Following that up with Listerine was a BIG mistake.  I'd heard that certain organic compounds in dairy products counteract the effects of such incendiary edibles.  The closest thing I had was a just-opened bottle of ranch dressing in my refrigerator.  It actually did the trick, although, two hours later, I still can't taste anything.  Ghost peppers were not put here for human consumption.  I can't imagine what the first person to pop one into his--I'm sure it was a man--mouth was thinking.  One should be required to obtain a permit, similar to those for automatic firearms and high explosives, to possess these things.  These are going to make one fine batch of chili.

LOL.  Laughing I once sprayed jalapeno juice in my eyes (by accident!) and the only cure I could find was to use sour cream.  I'm glad no pictures were taken.
Being lazy today.  Ordering out for chinese food rather than cooking.  Smile

Lets see for tonight I am thinking potatoes au gratin with ham  and green beans maybe a glass of mead, just keeping it simple for this Friday evening.

Well, I'm going to have leftovers, lol... That is, if the males dwelling here in Betwixt & Between leave any of the DELICIOUS chili mac my daughter invited us over for last night and sent us home with some, too!  Very Happy

Dinner plans have changed.  Seems the kids had other plans they failed to tell me about.  So it'll have to wait until tomorrow.  So now I'm just having some cheese and crackers.
