Oh, yes, SO ready for Spring... Especially after that "historic blizzard' (also called "Snowmageddon") here in the Midwest!  We had drifts we could've gotten lost in and hubby, who stayed at our daughter's house, couldn't get home for three days!  Surprised

We are now approaching those 50's and there's even a 60-degree day in the forecast!  Very Happy  Wishing you all warmer temps and no more of that four-letter word!!!

Novia, you've been BUSY!!!  Shocked   We once had to scrape carpet padding off with the same tool we use to scrape ice off the sidewalk.  It was horrible!!!  Hope your hands feel better now!

A very HAPPY Valentine's Day to all!  Smile

43 degrees here today!!  People were almost giddy!!  Tomorrow promises cold again and wicked wind, oh well, at least we got a taste of spring.  It can't be that far away...  I hope!

Took my first semester proctored finals Wednesday.  They were really tough but I think I did ok.  The wait till my grades are posted is worse than taking the actual tests!!  Well, sort of.....  Any way, I keep telling myself there's nothing more I can do about it so why not relax?  But there's some part of my head that still wants to obcess about it,  agh!   Embarassed

Wonderfully gorgeous full moon tonight, think I'll go outside and howl for awhile..... Laughing

I filled out my fafsa form today so now it's a case of hurry up and wait.  In a few days I'll get in touch with the school again and figure out things from there.  I don't even want to think about the full moon.  I have some personal health issues that cropped up on the full moon but I have my suspecions that my body is trying to work out something that has been unbalanced for years.  I did rewrite my karmic contract on the first new moon of the new year and laid claim to health so I'll try not to gripe to much while my body gets itself back in order.

i forgot to mention my brother is no longer going to Guam, he failed his latest PT test.  His weight is to high.  He put on a lot of weight since he got married.  He needs to remember that he comes from a heavey family.  We could all do with losing a few pound but he is in the military, he has to start watching his weight or they could make him move on base and put him on a diet.  Or just push him out the door. Sad

Glad to hear your brother will not be so far away, Indigo!  It's not a myth that marriage often comes with putting on a few pounds!  And hope you return to good health soon.

It was wonderfully sunny here today, although really cold.  I thought I may have hallucinating when I saw my first flock of robins today!  There's nothing for them to eat yet!  Spring can't be too far away, right?

Indigo, I'm sorry to hear of your brother's weight gain, but then again, glad he's not going so far away at this time.  We all need to be more conscious of our weight and try to live more healthy.

The weather has been absolutely beautiful and warm here for the past week or so but setting up for some stormy weather in the near future.

The moon was so beautiful here and I loved her looking in my window at me at night.

Looking forward to a weekend in New Orleans for Mardi Gras the first weekend of March.  This will be a new experience for me even though I'm a Louisianian, I've never been to the Big Easy for Mardi Gras.

Blessings,
Amethystone

Lovely weather in north GA today.  It is 4 PM and it looks like dusk outside.  I got drenched walking from my car to the library door. And I do mean drenched, I had to go to the library and stick my glasses under the dryer because I didn't have a dry spot on my shirt to wipe them.

I set up my placement test for school and finished some paperwork, now all I gotta do it have my highschool send them a transcript.  Well that and do good on my compass test this thursday.

Hey, I'm glad I was able to come in for awhile.  Hello everyone.
Usually, I'm locked out and I don't think that I'm the only one, whatever the problem is.... But it was really nice to see a random message in my inbox saying that someone was here, busy dusting, and making a fresh pot of brew.
I think that I'll have a look around while I can, and maybe stay out of mischief.

Hopefully, the cafe door stays unlocked, haha, and then maybe everyone will start filtering back in again.
I'll dust off a chair, sit down, and grab a cup of coffee.  Is there any wine here?
How is the weather in your neck of the woods.  Winter started off with a bang here.  5 days of freezing rain, twice as much snow as we usually have this time of year, and now we're in such a deep freeze.  The house is covered in ice and we can't tell if there's any damage yet, though I know of other buildings that are leaking because of the ice build-up.
One really nice thing though, because of the extreme cold, the birds are gathering around the front door.  The railing of the veranda has created a nice little shelter of snow from the wind.  So I started throwing out a handful of seed to give them something to eat, and they're thanking me by pooping on the pile of wood by the door, haha.

Laughing too funny Marigold! Don't our fine feathered friends have a fine way of saying thank you! Cold as all get out here in KC. below zero, wind chills around 15 below. Winter is def off with a vengenance this year. Coldest temp on record all over the place. Fortunately we don't have any of the ice, only a small amount of dusty snow, just cold cold temps.

How is everyone?  We need to fill the cafe again.
Apparantly, since I've been gone, we had another major freezing rain storm, followed by lots of rain.  It's good to be back to smaller snow banks, no ice on the house, and more normal temperatures.  It's still very cold, but I don't feel like I'm in the arctic again.
You know what happened strange here while I was gone?  The birds went away too.  I filled the feeders full, and scattered seed around, but nothing was touched while I was away.  It wasn't the weather because we had warm spells other winters too.  The birds have only just started roosting again outside the door.  I think I'll start throwing them seed again, even if they poopy on my fire wood, haha.
Is anyone else starting seeds yet for the summer? I bought a new lighting system (very cheap) to start seedlings last fall, and I haven't stopped using  it yet, and now that the sun is stronger, I can putter around in the greenhouse during the day.

Can I say I'm sick of winter!?  Mad  not quite a foot of snow a couple weeks ago, but since my hubby has it figured out now, we take the 1st week of Feb off due to the fact it always seems to do something crappy that particular week. Big snow storms or ice storms. and here I thought it was for our anniversary  Laughing  so we spent a whole week watching it from inside while the rest of the world trudged out I it! Now the book keeper has decided next year, she's taking it off too  Laughing I also spent that week dealing with a nasty upper respiratory bug, and am still on meds for that, but on the mend, if the steroids don't make my poor heart hop right out of my chest, and dance about the house that is!  Shocked

Today we hit almost 50, and heading above it tomorrow. Halleeeloo its melting off the snow, and now we are going to be butt deep in mud!  Mad With, yet again, more snow heading in next Monday! Evil or Very Mad

Hubby here is the green thumbed one, I do good to not kill the house plants these days!  Embarassed
