Only thing is marigold, you def do NOT want the humididity!  Shocked

We have really only hit the 90's a few times so far this summer. Last night was an early  fall like evening, cool and damp. Started out much the same this morning, and speedily heated up, and ramped up the humidity again. We haven't stopped with the rain long enough to dry out yet!!!

I had a feeling that there was going to be a lot of flooding eventually given the amount of snow that fell in the northern places this past winter. Then add in all the rainfall, and well, it was bound to happen, sad to say!!!

I'm finally back on line.  The small city that I live in has never seen so much devastation before, and no one was prepared.  Thankfully, no insurance claims for us, despite all the trees that are down.  Even our cabin has a small dinge in the metal roof, but a massive land slide across the river.  I am eternally grateful that things went so well for us.  Thankfully, we moved our vehicles to an open parking lot before our maple tree came down in our driveway.  And to top it all off, we got our power back on in 30+ hours.  There are still so many people without power in day 5.
Novia, I love the humidity.  We had a few days with temps in the 100s with it....aaahhhh....but since so many people can't stand it, I'm happy for them that the temps are only in the  mid 90s with the humidity.
Again, I tell my boys everyday that they should be grateful that we have power, and no major damage.  I feel as if I need to do more for people.
I have noticed that mother nature has a very cruel sense of humor.  Last winter,  since it was so long and cold, many people around here ran out of wood.  Now, we have more wood than what we know what to do with because of all the downed trees.  I hope that no trees end up in the landfill.  Wouldn't it be nice if volunteers gave their time to cut it up, and gave the wood away?

Finally, as of last Thursday, I think day12 after the storm, everyone has their power, yeah.   There were a few mentions on social media about the extra firewood for low income families, next winter, but so far, no one in this beautiful, upscale, conservative city has taken the bait.  Is that emoticon depicting the guy rolling eyes a sarcasm look?  Anyway, a lumber company, whom I believe, owns the province that I live in, told the public that they will help with the clean-up of the downed trees.  (  )  I wonder what the lumber company is going to do with all that free wood????

Yeah for Halloween!! (trick) I love it so much.  The past few years, I've been trying to start the tradition of us sitting around the specially prepared supper table, saying something positive about a relative who has passed on.  And I like to toast our passed relatives who have had a positive effect on our lives.
As for trick or treating, I've kind of started with the 'Walking Dead' opening season theme, though it wasn't intended.
Which leads me to this.  I know what being a witch is about.  I do my  best to lead a positive life, and helping people.  That being said, when Halloween comes,  I do 'EVERYTHING'  I think every uneducated, bigoted buffoon thinks a stereo-typical witch should be.  I have fake body parts, menus, and signs to make the most gruesome Halloween display, including a big sign for children to apply for a job to become part of my stew.
Part of me feels guilty for perpetuating the stereo type witch, but the other part of me is so mischievous,   Part of me wants to give these people what they want to think of me, and the other part wants to scare people.  So is my double standard.  I do Halloween a certain way with my family, and another way for the neighbors.  Both of them, I wouldn't trade for the world.

Well a lot has changed since I last popped into the castle. Job was eliminated, which is a terrible thing, but it is also turning out to be a very good thing. Seems I wasn't doing what I needed to do to focus on me, and not the rest of the world, so, once again, the universe seems to have stepped in, and forced my hand.

I had been getting the little pokes, prods, and subtle nudges, but me, being me, didn't listen, so guess what followed, yup, you go it, the bitch slap upside the ol' noggin!!!  Embarassed

You'd think, by now, this hard headed irish woman would have learnt to listen, and save myself the inevitable follow up slap!!  Laughing Nope, not me, gotta do things the hard way it seems.

Stress levels are down, tension, is fading. Regaining my sense of 'Self'. Gonna take some much needed 'Me' Time, hubby approved, of course, before I jump back into the outside world.

Might be time to strike back up a conversation, much needed, with my friends 'higher up'  Embarassed See what they got to say about all this!!!!

Yeah Kim, you'da thunk I'da learnt that eons ago  Laughing

Time for me time, I guess. I spend my life caring for others, putting my Self on the back burner, hell sometimes not even on the stovetop.

When you spend hours a day alone, I guess the only one you can focus on is your Self.

Well, I do know that to help others the best you've got to take care of yourself first and foremost. And I do think most of us do to a degree but a lot don't go into the deeper areas
(like your contacts are asking of you.)

You must have something that is needing attention to have this sort of reality changes happening to you. Wonder how big of a shake up your gonna have!  Surprised  Twisted Evil  Wink  Laughing

So, who's up for sitting back down in the Cafe' for a cuppa, and a visit?

Been trying to get my little world cleaned up and get back in touch with life. Why is it so easy to slip back into the shadows, but so damned hard to find your way back into the light? Guess I just need to put my sunglasses on and jump out.

nodding I know you can get yourself into a set pattern of how you do things and it is hard to switch back! I'm finding that a lot.....

I now just about refuse to leave the house and hubby just can understand why.... shrugs

Same with getting back into the witchy/metaphysical stuff. Just grab you some sun screen to go with your sun glasses and dah thru that door! Twisted Evil  Laughing

but....but......but......hrrmph.......

I'm hoping the dusting and cleaning/clearing will help. Been playing with my pendulum off and on today. (see pendulum thread  Laughing  so we don't hopscotch around!)

Right now, a nap sounds awesome though!
