A few weeks ago , I had my 18th Birthday where I reach 18 . I thought since I had reached some sort of a "marker" in life , maybe I should create a meaning chant or something for myself and to remember the inner self . Since you only get 18 years old once in a life time and it's a phase where you have pass from teenage years to a young adult , something meaningful should be created to mark such an occassion .

Below is a chant I used on my 18th birthday. Feel free to change the words .

"I am ,
strong and free .
Fetters and chains that bound ,
unbound and be broken .
Endowed with Wisdom and insight ,
Renewed with Strength and Vitality
Possessing in each hand power and grace .
The dual hugging in union ,
The eternal is seen .
The soul within unravels .
My wings spreads out freely .
The mysteries beyond hide no more .
Blessed is me ,
Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha .
So mote it be . "

Note : The second last sentence is a sanskrit mantra that means Gone Gone Gone beyond , Gone beyond to the Other Shore and also a wisdom mantra .
