I have lucid dreams alot, but night befor last was one that I wont soon forget.

In my dream, I dreamed my own death. I could feel myself dying, the panic and fear of my body dying, I mean I really felt my body dying. But it was only my body dying. I felt the transition of this life to the next. In my dream my body went through the dying process, then at a point my spirit left my body just before it died.

When I have one of my dreams I usually get up and write it down, this one I did not have to. even after the second day the memories of the dream are like I just awoke.

If anybody has any insight to dreams I would really appreciate it. and going forward, If anybody has insight to these type of dreams I will start posting them, I get them all the time, I just usually dont understand them.

If there are any of these write them down too. When dealing with dreams we need as much info as possible...ok I gotta run

Hi, very interesting, I too have lucid dreams, and I can still recall my dreams very vividly, I recall everything with minute detail, I had a dream diary myself, it is important to write down your dream or as much as you can recall in the morning.

There are many sites that can explain your dreams, one I refer to is the www.dreammoods.com

However on to your dream, I believe that death always means re-birth, are you going through changes in your daily life, are you yourself going through a period of transition... automatically when we dream of death it frightens us, but death represents changes, getting rid of the old, and starting anew. Letting go of old baggage and moving forward to a new spititual path.

From the dream book I have it describes DYING as follows:
DYING : If you dream of dying, you will receive empty promises.

As Hedgewitch mentioned, analyse everything you recall, and colours in dreams are important.

I am sure there are many learned members here who will be able to give you their interpratations as well.

Good Morning SirmikeB,

I am sure that Hedgewitch will give you a terrific magickal analysis, so I am just going to stick with the psychology of it. Many people have dreams of their death. That it is such a lucid dream is not surprising given the subject. The current hypothesis on dreams is that they are our way of mentally dealing with everyday situations as well as underlying tensions. Consequently, what must be asked is did this dream come from no where or is it related to a stressor in your life? Confused:

Now the dream makes perfect sence.

After 2 years of planning We just moved from St Louis to San Diego. We drove cross country in a U-Haul. We have only been here a little over a week. I dont transition well LOL, hence the panic and fear. But this was a move that I knew in would be fantastic once we got here. Teh last couple of months before we moved everything fell into place perfectly, until the friday before we were supposed to leave St Louis. We were supposed to leave St Louis on Saturday. Friday Ice storms hit and we were delayed 3 days. power was out everywhere and even the banking system was down. So for a couple days everything went awry. But we are here now and it is AWSOME.

thank you all for your input, once I started reading your responses the meaning was obvious. I dont know why I didnt put it together,

Thank you all for your warm responses!

Love and Light

Very interesting SirmikeB!

The reason I'm piping in here is that you and several others mention 'lucid dreaming'. Was this really a lucid dream? Many people confuse lucid with 'vivid'.

Lucid dreaming is when you are asleep and become aware that you are really dreaming and you have the potential of some control over what happens.

Death in a regular dream is fairly common and generally means change, like you all were saying. But truly lucid dreaming about your own death is NOT so common. It could be that you were simply going through an OBE (out of body experience) and became aware of it...which is really cool! If you didn't know what was going on, then yes...panic would be the logical reaction lol!

Blessings -

Thank you Iris for pointing that out, I have both Vivid and Lucd along with the OBE.

I would really like to be able to sit down with sombody I knew I could confide in to talk about my dreams. When I start to talk to sombody about my dreams the usal response is a few eye rolls and the look that I have fell out of my tree.

My partner has seen the results of my dreams and still thinks at times I am not well but he is supportive.
I have had OBE dreams that actually yanked me out of bed as I suddenly awoke, or be partially awake looking at him, just comming out of an OBE and be in a frozen like state for a few seconds. He said I was making "gurgling" like noises. I would be aware of my sorundings but unable to move.

I have had dreams where I got up ( in a dream like state) and had a conversation with sombody, I thought at the time was one of my guides, and in those dreams I am in complete controle of what I am doing.

Some are more of the vivid, ones that would be like they were a message of some kind from someone.

I know that th memory of most dreams fads away pretty quickly, however Many of the vivid or lucid dreams I remember for some time, and to make sure I dont forget details I get up and write many of them down.

The problem is most of them I dont understand. I know I have them for a reason. I just dont yet know what it is.

As far as the dream of my own death, I dont know if it was a lucid or a vivid but it was pretty intense.

If anybody has any insight or help me understand them I would really appreciate it.

Hi there! Not an expert on dream analisys but I do understand where you are coming from. All my life I've had dreams that I remember very clearly only to have them come true somewhere down the road. The first time I became aware was in high school. We had a test in algebra one of the first and I had already dreamed about right down to the extra credit problem at the bottom. (still flunked tho LOL) and just like you when I talk about my dreams I get the same response. so anytime you want to talk, let me know!!! Sibrei

It sounds like you have a really active dream life! Yeah, the sleep paralysis thing is something I experience from time to time. We somehow become semi-conscious while our muscles are still in lock-down mode.

I think it would be really helpful for you to figure out what messages your dreams are passing onto you since they seem like powerful ones. It may help to calm your more intense responses as well. I run a website on self-interpretation of dreams that might give you some guidence.

www.easy-dream-interpretation.com

I hope it's okay to post links in this forum? If not, just give my hand a slap. Anyway, I'm here to help!

P.S. Yes...I too am very familiar with that 'politely disinterested' look when talking about dreams Smile

Thank you Iris.. I love the site. I spent some time on it last night and really enjoyed the read. It gave me some peace of mind and some direction on understanding my dreams, and figuring them out!
