MM Everyone!
Well when I saw this little spot in the forum, I thought I'd share some of my little bits of writing. I do not claim to be a professional, so please be kind! Enjoy..or not....lol
The Prophecy Of Love
Far reaching to the stars
But ever so long the
traveled distance ahead
Fear of the unknown
Is all that she’s come to know
Though she tells herself that
It’s through no choice of her own
Her history holds her still in place
For fear of disgrace and pain
She becomes a solid rock
in spite of the spent time
Her every things designed to
Forget all that she thought she knew
Afraid that the very thing she feared
Could possibly become true
Repeated as so many nights before
Subtle is the music and the candle glow
That surrounds the crowd of singletons
whom she finds herself among
Happy and smiling she seems
until her eyes chance Upon him
his gaze heady as Dark burgundy
As he across the room beckons
to the lonely girl within
Who dares in this instant
but for a moment to
Think of what his smile could mean
A man who would love her
Unfailingly and faithfully
Does she smile in return
And risk her heart to breaking?
Or should she turn and pretend
She never saw him and his longing
Should she steel her heart’s wish against
what he could give and offer dearly
Quickly, so quickly In a long,
long repeated decision
She turns herself away
All without saying a word
As the man’s smile fades
In puzzlement before he
also turns away
She is relieved once again
at the reprieve she has
Recklessly offered herself
So scared of the unknown is she
One who will never let anyone in
Close to her heart and soul
Her mind still shattered by
Her previous history of pain and sadness
Why should she risk what meager happiness
she has found herself for just a smile
When faced with the unknown
That this man should offer her
No matter her heart’s calling otherwise
So she is alone, once again tonight
Her mind insisting that her heart
will eventually be alright,
For how can one such as she
believe in love after all
she whispers in her head
As she tucks herself into her empty bed
and reaches towards her nightstand
to pull out another newly bought
romantic novel of love
The Knight and Lady upon its cover
Clasped in passion and love’s embrace
A precious escape from
the self inflicted loneliness
she feels within, this book offering a place
Where happily ever after endings
always happen in the end.
So she who knows not where to go
Has fallen down, fallen down
she but one of many, so many
Pieces of shattered glass
Which reigns upon her forsaken
dreams of tomorrow
Shattering everything
She ever hoped they would be
Always ignoring the
calling of her heart and soul
This is what awaits a foolish
Girl who dares to believe and fear
In the prophecy of love.
