Have you ever seen an object from another time era and all of a sudden felt homesick? Today at bowling, I watched one of the other bowlers on the opposing team. She was an older lady somewhere between 50's and 60's and she has a name that reminded me of a time era I know I wasn't born in. Do you remember when there was plaid couches that had a wooden frame and wooden arms? The material on couch was dark plaid and it was made of an itchy material. I remember a time being with my grandmother when she was in her late teens. Not much decorations on the tree. Her family's Christmas tree was a real pine tree with white lights, and very little colored lights. My grandma had black framed glasses on that came to a rounded point at the top corners. Remember those glasses? When I always have this vision playing out in my mind, I get a very deep homesick feeling. I also feel sad like I am missing those days. I have never seen a picture of what I described to you, nor was I born at the time. I do this very often when I come across an image that remindes me of the good old days that were before my time. And when I have this happen, I feel homesick for those days. I get like this for very different past eras. Anyone else have this?

I sometimes would wish I was in a different time period, but never had the feeling that I'd been there already. That's very interesting.

I am homesick for California though

thank you epona and larc. epona, i will try to look further when i have that again. do you think that when it happens again, i could meditate on it? this isn't the only time era i have done this with. sometimes they range from the the 20's all the way to the 70's. it depends on the object or person that i come across. i don't touch them, but, i get it by seing them.

I will give you my opinion, and it is just that, but I have formed my opinion do to my experiences in life.
I think we are very connected to certain spirits, we travel on through time connected with vital spirits. Sometimes there is a spirit that�s loved deeply and if you do not stay close will eventually try and connect.
It happens with people, and animals, again my opinion. I have had similar experiences rarely, It can be brought on by sight or smell for me, but usually it�s a feeling of longing for someone and I see them in the period of time I knew them I don�t usually recognize them though. When I was a kid I used to think it was just one of my very vivid day dreams. But my great Aunt told me it could be something more. She was wise and I always trusted her insight.
I don�t know if your gram is still living, and if she is ask about Christmas when she was young. In her stories you may find your answer. If she is not, take to pictures, find as many as you can.
It could just be what I call a round about, and you where with her then�
