I haven't logged in to the castle for a week or so. I really missed all of you.

I just wanted to share the reason why I haven't had a chance to log in. I recently left my job counseling adults to go to work for the local department of education as a special education teacher. I am now working with sixth graders.

I managed to survive my first week of teaching and I am still smiling. I just love the kids that I am working with. They all have their behavior and academic issues but they are also great kids!

I have to say I never truly appreciated how much work goes into a single day of teaching. I have to give credit to all those teachers out there. This is one of the most difficult things I have ever done but it has truly been worth the struggle.

It's good to see you, and congratulations on your new position! I believe teachers are very under-rated in their value to the children they teach and to the community at large.

It sounds like you are enjoying it very much! I am very excited for you, the rewards will be worth every minute of it. You are blessing to the children you assist and teach, for they will be much stronger for it.

I feel like I have really found my place. My husband asked me the other day how I was feeling about my choice given that I was spending so much time getting ready for each day.

I didn't even think about my response. Honestly, despite the time spent, I have never been happier!

As in dealing with the elderly, it takes a special breed to deal with the wee ones.
