Something I wanted to try. Either burning or carving. I don't really carve much so tried burning. Not so great results but will work on it. I really need to get better tools for this.
More work to be done. Helps keep me out of trouble!

Sundown I love the runes, I made myself some a long time ago. Makes me remember I should get them out and dust them off. I actually thought you have done them really well, what I did to finish mine off was to rub some bees wax into them to bring back the finish of the timber after cutting them. They turned out rather well.
You are very creative, helps keep the hands busy and the mind out of trouble sometimes. This is why I love the garden so much.
These are done on willow. I left them a bit unfinished since I was not sure how they would turn out. The final ones are going to be more difficult but will think and plot on them and find a way.
Yes L.E. I look carefully at the picture and description of each before actually putting it on the wood.
These will get a good bit more finish with sandpaper then I will decide how to finish them. I am thinking more of a natural oil rubbed in for these.
Time will tell.

I thought of the dremel, I have one but tend to stay away from power tools as much as possible. But, I need to go check and see what is available. They do seem to have a tip for everything, lol. Another option, thanks for reminding me. I had tried one tip I had to no avail. And really had forgotten about the possibility of all the attachments they have.
Thanks

It is defintely an option....but I try to stay away from power tools too....lol..
Sundown, I bet you were receiveing some amazing messages when you created these.....when I made my runes years ago, I just painted the images, and when I did, the mediations, well, they were very powerful....I think it is so incredibly magickal!
You are a very blessed individual...and I do love the designs you have made so far....I can't wait to see more!

Here is one more. It's not that I don't like them, I just think I can do better. More thought, more practice, maybe even carving. This is the second time I tried to do "something" to the wood. I don't usually do that and it is difficult for me. I prefer for the wood to tell me what to do. I guess it is difficult to get out of the comfort zone!
Live and learn

I think you are doing a beautiful job with the Runes, and I completely understand about letting the wood speak to you.....I am that way with the stones I carry and the pendants I wear, they speak to me to let me know they desire to be with me at that particualr time....I am sure the Runes will come to you...each one in their own way and when the wood is ready to accept the magickal charge that it bonds with....
I am so excited for you tho, it is an incredible thing you are doing, and the messages you are receiving are such blessings.....
You are very powerful empath my dear friend.....the divas and elementals of the earth are very much in touch with you....and that is something all of could be and are envious of!

I must say Sundown when I saw your latest rune I had a very instant strong charge in my solar plexus. I think you are so lucky you have the gifts you do. I am of the same as Lady E, my crystals speak to me as do some of the other things I work with. You are very talented in your wood work.
I must say though I much prefer the work from the heart that may not be perfect in your eyes, but they seem to be more powerful to me. You do a lovely job.
The last 2. I now know what I need to do in the future to do better, but not to sure I will do more. Think I will stick to doing what I do best. These 2 are still in a rough unfinished stage, a bit more sanding and a natural stain. They will get there. Forgot to take a pic of the first 6 finished
A bit rough but I am not to sure these should be "perfect". Thought, intent, and usefullness mean more somethimes.
Blessed Be
