What a boat. Trailer needs a bit of work. Motor needs work. Does not leak. Needs bits and pieces fixed. I can't wait. Floating and crusing around the lake. I really don't care if I catch a fish or not. It's been too long. I quit fishing in 77' for personal reasons. (My fishing buddy passed away). The old river rat is going back to the water! What a wonderful circle life is.

I love the idea Sudown, it sounds like just what you need....I would love to drift around on the boat on the lake....what bliss!! Keep us up to date on how she fares ...... what is made out of? Are you going to be adding any wood to her?

Ahhhh, but it is not "just a boat" is it? It is first a tribute to your fishing buddy and a realization that the fishing was not only him, but a part of you, just as he was a part of you and you him.

And then of course, it is the element of earth (the components of the boat) flowing freely on the element of water. I suspect you will be able to see the fire of Father Sun one morning as He wakes up and the breezes of air that will gently touch your face. And The Spirit of the Goddess as She awakens your heart to the beauty of it all.....

Just a boat....I think not, my brother!!

So right on all counts DesertMist. Catching fish is not the point. although nice sometimes. Tranquility, quiet, solitude, seeing the sunrise or sunset. And the fishing buddy was more of my life than will ever be known.

Enjoy the water for me too. I haven't been fishing since I had my daughter 4 years ago. There is nothing better than allowing the moving water below to quietly rock one into a well earned relaxing state.
