Far south in a large looping bend of the Mississippi river in south Louisiana. There lies a place lost to time. I debated if it needed it's own thread and finally said yes. There will be much more as I go back and forth to that area. A great deal of the pictures will be on the photobucket. I think I will start a new section there, since I always upload for message board size. When I get the chance I will put them up in a new place at full resolution.
Enjoy

That ancient tree deserves a thread of his own! Spectacular! I live in the country, but I have never seen a tree that ancient! There are some willows and maples here that are old, but they don't give off the energy that grand old man does (even in a photograph you can feel it!). The thriving logging industry makes sure all our trees never make it past middle-age
Love the pics....my fav is looking up through the Lone Oak...feels like you are surrounded with wisdom...very kewl!! I bet the energy there is pretty amazing as well....you must feel absolutely wonderful when around it. Thank you for sharing the pics with us. Keep em comin' They bring a song to my heart.....
