As some of you know I started making my own Book of Herbs back in 2006. Much of the herbs and plants are ones that grow right here where I live. There just didn't seen to be alot of books with information about the things that grow here in the swamps. So I started my own, with the help of my kids and hubby. Going out with as many books I could find, and we would ID, and collect them. Sometimes having to ask many others to collect the info I wanted. We would dry out some, pick a page in the book an, glue the dried herbs, flowers and leaves on, then I would set an write in the info I wanted with each one. This way I would have all the info that I personally needed without having to dig through so many books. This also gave me something to bring the kids into, they learn just as much, and hopefully  can remember it all better then I can. Things just don't say in my head!!

I thought that I would share this with ya'll once again. This can be used as a homeschooling lesson, and/or family together time. The book you all created together becauses a wonderful collection of memories. An a wonder family airloum to be pasted down and even added to.

Book Ideas:
Book of Leaves
Book of Flowers
Book of Birds
Bugs
Stones
You name it, you can create it.

This link to to a few photos of my own books. Some things are real, some are printed an glued in, and some is by my own hands and that of my kids. An by no means is this book even done. Yet it has given us something to come together to work on for 2 years!!! Think of the fun and memories we've already made and still have to create!!

It is a beautiful, magickal and amazing family project, and something you and your family can treasure for many generations to come...I am so happy for you! Very, very, very cool!

Embarassed Thank you Lady E. I thought I'd share it again. Working on this has inspired other little things. My youngest Is creating a Leaves book. He collects them from trees and bushes. Then we'll add the name of the tree/bush along with information about them.

I think this also can fall along the lines of Scrapbooking too!!! lol
