Ok, I am not one for much being able to remember dreams when waking, unless of course I'm supposed to figure out something.

Tonight I sit here typing and can remember this one clearly, for me anyways, lol.

All sorts of wierd houses. Looking down one street there is a house that is much like algitter covered merry go round. All sorts of animals, pigs, with wings. Winged Unicorns. Flying lions. See a pattern here?

Another is covered by gargoyles, like a castle, a stone house, with gargoyle perched on their corner stones.

The wierdest is a village/town. all the houses are stone. With these vines growing up one. Thick vines, hiding the wonderful stone. I am running from something, hiding. I run upon this house and think 'they must be removed to show the wonderfulness of this house and it's stone.' I go to the front, and knock on what appears to be a door, with no knob. A gentleman steps out onto a balcony stories above me. It is then that I notice these walkways, stone bridges, stories above the ground, connecting one house to another. Every house in the place is like this. I ask him if I can come in. He points over the horizon and tells me I have to go to this one particular address 1213 prosepct to gain entrance to the town. I will then have to go thru the balcony system of each house to work my way back to his house to gain entrance. This was a darker segment to my dream, but this house seemed to be shed in light, not bright light, but brighter than the rest of the place. The whole of the ground was knotted with these vines. It is definitely going to be rough going to get clear over to the beginning of this.

I can't tell you much about anything else without relating it to the way I interpret my own dreams as I don't know how it would directly relate to your life, and there are symbols here that I don't know the historical/dream significance for (such as gargoyles), but I would venture a guess that this dream is very much a spiritual dream that is directly related to how you have grown and where you are now.  You are running and hiding from what in your life right now?...and you stumble on a really cool stone house, which I assume means stability and protection (much like that of a fortress) only you've got it hidden behind something that you've allowed to grow over it...like building up walls of false protection around yourself when you already have that power without them.  A door without a knob, for ME, would mean that I was being denied entrance into something for some reason, an emotion or a piece of knowledge  The man above you might be your higher self, giving you directions on how to enter a higher spiritual realm, an experience you haven't yet encountered, but one for which you would really like to learn more about.  The bridges are pretty self-explanatory, and each of the houses would be aspects of your own subconscious, each connected one to another by the bridges, but detached for whatever reason.   What are your "prospects"?  What is the significance of the number 1213 (7, numerologically, or perhaps the numbers 12 and 13 respectively...an age you need to go back to? or address, or phone number or date, Dec. 13, or whatever this number means)  Going back through the balcony system, if this were me, would mean that I would be going back through some part of my self that needs backtracking.  Memories that need to be dealt with, old issues that need to be resolved, etc.  And, as you say, that is the darker aspect, and regression often is very hard to deal with.  However, light is knowledge and positivity, enlightenment and all that cool stuff.  So, in order for you to go forward, you must go back, and go through things that you've allowed to grow over with vines (sort of covered them up and bound them, maybe in an attempt to not deal with them completely).  
I would like to know how you are going to get through the vines?
I hope this doesn't sound too inane and amateurish, but maybe a little of it can make some sense.  Hope it helps.

Sometimes I know what the answers are, but I like to see how others view the same thing and how they interpret it as well. sometimes, alot of time, others have that one piece I cannot put my finger on. so in asking, I get a few more pieces than I myslef have.

One thing I had intentionallly left out of my posting was that prior to retiring I had asked to be shown in my dreams what I needed to do in order to get my life back on track and back into MY control again. I do have issues, alot of them. Alot more than onyone like myslef should have.

Now is a time when all of us who will have a major task at had very soon have to get out shit together if you will.

As far as wanting to delve into my higher self, excuse me one moment LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL. I am very comfortable with her it'se actually the lower me I have troubles with, and getting both of us on the same page, the same level if you will.

Gargoyles usually represent hidden fears. Protecting our self from the truths of those fears.

That's so cool.  Believe me, I have lots of odd little dreams like these myself and trying to figure ME out would confuse Carl Jung himself...lol.
