Okay, I'm a librarian, and one of the things we do for fun is try to find bizarre information.  I came across this U.S. patent a few days ago.  It's an idea for a machine that would use centrifugal force in order to assist birth.  I've never had kids, but I'm pretty sure I want to stay away from any birthing device that can cause me to be motion sick while at the same time being in labor: Google Patents

The idea of spinning while in pain does not compel me to promote this! Must have been a man who thought of it!
