This is an old tree trunk out in my side yard.   Doesn't it look exactly like the Grim Reaper?

It really does!  I think I would be a little freaked out if I saw something resembling the grim reaper on my property!  LOL!!

That is an amazing picture Rainbells! Very mystic! I clicked on the picture and you can get two larger sizes, so I looked them both over for awhile Smile ...I think it is pretty amazing. It resembled a Crone figure to me as well...I also thought of the Goddess Hecate and our very own Novia...(thinking)

Did you go over there to check out the area? I would love to know more about this picture and how it came about too....very, very (kewl)

Please tell us more!

This is a closer picture and even close up it looks like a person.  Just an interesting old tree trunk, black with rot.  It  wasn't cut down, it came down on its own, that's why the top is pointy.  The weird thing is that we have lived here 5 1/2 years, and we never noticed it until last evening when we were going to the garden center.  My husband was waiting outside for me, looking off in that direction, and when I came out he said, "I don't want to scare you or anything, but I think the grim reaper is paying us a visit."   It stands out so clear, because all the surrounding trees are grey-brown.   Can't believe we never saw it before!

To me he looks like the hermit card of the traditional-type decks.  Or Gandalph.

It is simply amazing Rainbells! Thank you again for sharing.

It must have been so very odd to know it was there all these years and you just now noticed it! There has to be some sort of message it is bringing you...please keep us up to date on what, if any messages it has for you...I am so fasinated by your treasure! Have you any history on the property, and possbily the area in particular where the tree grew? Is there any way to tell what kind of tree it was? I also agree with AliceJ, it does look as if it has a naturally occurring circle around it....all I can say is wow!

It's obvious by the width of this stump and the trees growing around it, that the stump is much much older than it's neighbors.  The "circle" grew around it.  Been there for 5 1/2 years.   Makes me consider that your energies may have helped to influence the shape of this stump.  Intentions manifest, and a symbol of your faith and energy has become apparent.

Just a thought... Wink

Earthmother, I was thinking along those same lines.   All my years of rituals in this house, maybe I managed to manifest myself a guardian.   She's pointed right at my driveway and front door, too.

Lady Elaine, I don't know too much about the history around here, but my ReaperCroneHermit is at the edge of our property along an old, old  never paved road that eventually connects with a busy state road. It was, before the houses here were built,  connected with a road that is named "Old Coach Road" ,  so maybe it was in use 150 yrs. ago as a highway.

Those Pic's have so much energy in them. What a cool old tree. Smile
