Thought this might be a good place to share the exciting experiences that have happened to/through me in the past week -

After about 5-6 (maybe in it's entirety, nearly 7, which would make sense) years of dabbling in Paganism, having conversations with natural physical entities, recognizing and respecting the forces that be, and identifying myself with the aries fire that I am, my resolves and mental accomplishments exploded during a moment of contemplation into an unmistakable and magnificent bonfire, out of which the Fire Witch was born.

This past week I cast my first circle and began to take control, to create, to ask assistance from other realms, to be empowered.  I have left the safety of the shore and, though I may return, will never see it the same way again. All this is extremely exciting, of course, but a bit unnerving - hence my need to make my announcement and share in the receptive environment of this castle.

All sorts of things turn up in my everyday now - yesterday I found a faery rune within a fairy ring of mushrooms in my backyard, and a bright bold rainbow in my backyard last evening. I have cheated and experienced magick in glimpses in the past, but this epiphany is timely, due, and (most unnervingly) born out of sobriety  

I reach out to you all for support, and am excited to join you in my new endeavor.

Many appreciated thank yous for your warm welcomes and congratulations. The forces that be have blessed me last evening with the gift of sight, and visions are revealed to me in sources of light and mirrors. As this mirror magic breaks down previous perceptions in quite a disorienting way, I was wondering if anyone might have advice or suggestions about mirror magick. I'll search the messageboards for information on mirror magick as well.

I am the daughter of a catholic schizophrenic (mother) and alcoholic (father), and this land I've entered has not only been forbidden to me, but I was frightened into even searching it out lest I be diagnosed as a schiz also, medicated and councelled to be lost on a quest consisting mainly of my own woes and sorrows. I was heavily ridiculed when I began my quest, letting me know where my ideals stood in the eyes of my family and community.  Life blessed me with a powerful shield from judgement where I was able to explore on my own, and having little guidance I found my way.  I would love to throw myself upon this land and rest a bit, but the magick tells me time is ticking...and my motivation continues everyday.

So when I look into a mirror at a face that is not what I'm used to seeing, a remnant of self doubt screams SCHIZ! and I lose concentration. This is the second time concentration has appeared in my post today...at least I know now my next lesson.  I ask for suggestions and advice on quieting this voice of doubt as I have broken ties with its source, yet the echo remains.

yes growing up in such a way does give you baggage. the best way i have found to quiet your own voice of dout is to embrace your path fully and accept that this is what you are your a willworker and that your not going to stop. As for your famly there isn't much help that can be given but i'll tell you what i usualy tell people who ask me or try to convert me back to the cristain path. i tell them that in spiritual matters you must follow your heart because how else would you know it was the right path, anther way to explain it is some times people are born for another path in life  than what is thrust upon them your path is differnt than that path.
magic can be frightening to those who don't understand it or have had it pounded into the mind that magick is bad and all that bs. Magick isn't truely bad what makes it good magick and dark is who puts it in motion and how it is used.
mirrior magick is a good start for some. it also tells me at least you a seer in a way. mirriors can be used for many things and once you find your mirrior that you use put up protections around the face of the mirrior and on the back. this will keep the mirrior from being influence from any outside influences. there are dark tings out there who could try to use the mirrior or reflective surface against you. mirriors are realy allied with the shodows of reality. so a word of cation to you. just make sure you have protections upon you and around the mirrior you use.

my concerns with family matters are minimal nowadays, thankfully. it took foundation-shattering and soul-scattering events and years of healing and understanding why my familiar world was so violently and mercilessly torn apart, but i arrived in a magickal place with new home, new family, and the opportunity for a brand-new beginning that i, after coming out of the dark and chaos, have fully embraced. i have fun planning the aspects of my handfasting that i'll be inviting my side of the family too   and look forward to using the ceremony as a final goodbye to old and worn out cycles as i dedicate and embrace my new path in the witness of all. it'll be real neat

i am a seer, and thank you for your observation. my eyes alone are very poor (my perscription is 4 points away from what is considered "legally blind"), so finding my "sight" last night was kind of a "duh" moment...it was something i did all along but, again, let my concentration falter before realizations took place. I now let them follow through, and the insight is awesome! says "Real Eyez"...

another gracious thank you for your pointers on mirror magick, I will heed your advice on protection and meditate on your statement that "mirrors are really allied with the shadows of reality". this makes perfect sense to me and assures me i'm on a lit path, while showing me the next stone to step on.

It is no problem at all I am glad to help. alicej and i have been through alot and i think it helped her out alothough she problably had problems with me as a child and how my ablilities were so stronge and couldn't be blocked. i think that helped her alot seeing it in me even as a small child it let my mom know she wasn't crazy or alone. knowing that i think helped her accept the magick that surrounds and is all around us.

as i said, my mother is a diagosed schizophrenic, she's medicated for the voices she hears as well as issues with esteem and confidence. she's 100% a people pleaser, a passive aries. she's very jittery and uptight all the time, scared of herself. when i was younger i'd come home to the ambulance taking her away to the hospital. she was abused and abandoned, and has been seperated from my dad for 2 years after he left, citing that he'd taken care of her all these years....

...all this writing is very theraputic.

i've tried to reach out to my mom to call her over to this path but she is heavily, heavily guarded right now by her own defenses and so i recognize it is not time, and that it may never be. so that's where i let this matter lay for now. dad's alcoholism taught me you can burn yourself out trying to help those who won't accept it, or aren't ready for it. oh life and the lessons and the funny ways we learn...

no wonder i have such a voice of doubt, this post has helped me identify the source and now it can be worked with, changed within, then sent on it's merry way.

when i was growing up, i thought our family was normal. now i understand that perspective is pure gold.

 - i wish the same light hearted morning to all of you that i'm having today. and I jest - I'm honored that you thought about me, my situation and my realizations apart from this castle, AliceJ.  I've had glasses since I was 8, and horrible eyesight coming out of elementary school. I can't see well enough to function without corrective lenses of some sort. Baby loves to play "capture mommy's face decor" (following immediately by "capture mommy's ear, neck, and head decor"), so I usually go with contacts...which greatly hinder my new found sight. I catch many more visions while wearing my glasses, and am elated i've found a use for my uncorrected eyesight

i've been denied this type of elated enjoyment of life for a very long time. i know it's due, i know i'm worthy, and i'm reveling in it with a full understanding of the cycles and what's to come (lol see below quote). i love it - and i love to shout it

RealEyez, Welcome to the world. I too, am nearly blind without my glasses (have worn them since the age of 3!) and "see" much better without them even.

Dear sister, you are not alone and not crazy -- those who do not or cannot accept their gifts are the crazy ones. Those who are half dead, trying to please others by hiding their "light under a bushel".

I am proud of you and very happy for you, my dear.

oh taleteller i'm intrigued...do you look at unfocused light sources as i do to get visions? what do you use to group your visions? for example, i have these floaters in my vision that will group to form obvious pictures and/or signs...are you able to discribe how your unfocused sight helps you come to realizations?

ooooooh this is neat....

My seeing involves several things.

The floaters -- I call them Fairy Lights -- tend to group and then lead my eyes to what it is they want to point out. For example, earlier today it was a cloud formation that looked to me like a host of angels! They were grouped and strung out halfay across the sky. I have lately begun to work more closely with the angels and I took this a sign that this is what I am to do now.

Other times, I will catch a glimpse of lights, spots or flashes that lead my eyes to something that I otherwise would not have noticed. When these signals become emphatic, I often need to remove my glasses so as to get the "real" picture.

I have once or twice "seen" movement in a mirror where none should be reflected. But, have not pursued that avenue as yet. It just doesn't "feel" as if it is time for me to use that form now.

This is as close as I can get right now to describing how I "see", I hope this helps you understand a little more about me.
