Lightening struck a tanker here in kc that contains over 2 million gallons of gasoline. Spewing dark fumes high into the air, and they are going to just let it burn, hopefully it will not go booom! (Update, it's only half full! So it might burn for hours, or days maybe a week!)

No one was hurt thank the goddess!

The video has a guy on it that was over in Iraq and says this is even larger than things he saw burning over there.

I drive sixty miles a day for work (during the school year)!  Yeah, I'm not looking forward to seeing where this thing is going!

Sorry to hear about the lightening and the tanker and all that pollution.  I imagine it would be tough to put out that kind of fire, if it's even possible at all.  We had a train derailment here a few months back of toxic chemicals and a bunch of people had to be evacuated from their homes because of some kind of toxic cloud.  I think this stuff goes on more than we know, I know the news here mentioned it breifly, then it just went away whereas sensational murders get press for days on end.

It is still burning tonight.

When full it would have contained 2 million, yes million, + gallons of unleaded gasoline, but it was only half full so we will only have 1+ million gallons of petroleum gunk in to air!  

They were able to off load the tanks nearby using the underground pipelines they have there. Which is good since one right by it contained jet fuel, and it was full! That woulda been one helluve boom! They figured if it woulda went it would have taken out six + blocks and a whole lotta people caue they didn't evacuate, they had them stay inside their buildings for a spell until they had things under control! At about 9:30 last night they were showing it and the tank itself was melting and collapsing, but the reservoir around it will contain all the full even when full, and EPA guideline.

... and we just keep on diggin ourselves deeper and deeper...
stop the ride, I want OFF!!
