I receive quite a few questions everyday from folks...here is one I would like to get everyone's input on...

Hi Everyone
I've been a silent member of this group for a long time and I know
there are many "advanced" souls who post here. I have a silly but
very serious question: Can watching A Haunting on the Discovery
channel open doors to other dimentions? I've been drawn to put this
program on for the last few months. I don't often watch if it's a
rerun. In the last few weeks there have been bizarre happenings in
my home. My daughter Mary ( heard her brother calling her name,
but he was spending the weekend at a friend's house. My son (10)
told himself he was dreaming as he looked into the bathroom mirror
and saw a male form (which looked like my boyfriend) reflecting
behind him. When he turned around there was nobody there. He says
now he isn't sure if he was dreaming - it was so real. His pupils
were huge and he was really freaked out. Mary told me that every
night her body shakes and wakes her up. I've also experienced my
body vibrating at a high speed, waking me up. I was positive we
were having an earthquake and I woke up my boyfriend. We waited for
more shaking but he told me I was just dreaming. Another time my
son ran into my room because something had slapped the pillow right
next to his ears.

I'm guilty of using talking boards, but always carefully, always
inviting the highest, most loving energies to communicate. We are
Catholic and have symbols of our faith in our home. Since I have no
desire to engage in negative practices, I'm wondering if by watching
reenactments of demons on these shows can open a portal?

Well first off it does sound as if you most def have spirit issues. i don't think however they are malevolent as they would have done more serius things.

As far as the tv shows goes, it may have changed yu way of thinking and feeling about spirits, opening yurself and your life up to them.

With talking boards, no matter how carefully you think you pick your spirits, it's open doorway for any spirit to enter thru.

I personally don't think you have to worry about the negative, only the honery!  

Lay donw the rules to them It is your house and if you dn't want them thee. Tell them to go! Be firm and forthright!!! others here are better with any 'rituals' you might use, me I just stomp my foot and they listen, lol.

Remember not to be afraid of them because the fear feeds them.  They are more likely to "show up" and be "naughty" if you show them that you fear them.  A good friend told me once that the spirit world cannot hurt the living.  Only the living can hurt the living.  We can only hurt ourselves through our fear.  

I'm with Novia.  I don't think the TV show actually had anything to do with them manifesting.  They were either there already or the board was left open for them.  Your perspective changed and you opened yourself up for them.  They don't sound like the type of ghosts that would try to do psychic harm.  They are simply trying to get your attention for whatever reason.  

A good house cleansing would rid the house of them if that is your wish.  If not, be prepared to deal with them at their need.

Well the mind can play tricks on you especially if you watch something that pertains to ghosts....hauntings etc. Now on the other hand it can also open your eyes to something that already existed and you ignored. My question to you is can you ever think back to a time or times that were unusual but you ignored them......saying to yourself ....oh well.

I think you always had the spirits and this show has enabled your conscious and unconscious to come together.  I think they are safe and friendly and you can learn to live and enjoy your new housemates!
I also think if you don't want to do that you can go for the house cleansing, but I believe in my opinion that spirits cannot be moved too well unless THEY want to, and if they are trying to be friends perhaps this can be turned into a positive experience.

Well, that is what the TV is supposed to do - make you believe something (enough to make you "buy" it)  

On a serious note, maybe it is possible that there are spirits in your home and you can either talk to them to leave you some guidance as to why there are in your home. Gentle talking will let them know that you don't fear them enough to harm them.

A house cleansing or smudging could help to purify your home energies and you could regularly keep a vigil candle. I used to do this in my house when I had newly moved in there was a very malevolent spirit in my home. After a long struggle I managed to drive it out but I would keep the perimeter (since I live in an apartment that would be my balcony and door) closed with candles on which I would charge with Hanumanji's energies and write His name in a spiral fashion on it and burn these candles after they were anointed with mustard oil and black peppercorns. These candles were to draw a circle of light around my home that the spirit couldn't enter. I would keep vigil every Saturday. And for the rest of the week a small oil lamp near the balcony or door.

Regular cleansing with coconut fibres in cleansing herbs and clarified butter also kept my home clean and pure.
